Debt Demolisher

Hi all
I have sorted my budget out and done the grocery shopping. Added the amounts I need to my savings account and may even have a little more as the week goes on as I round down the accounts. I am so determined to get that EF up by the end of Sept and will do all I can to achieve it. I know it's not a massive leap forward but just having a small goal to aim for keeps me 'Motivated'. Shame I wasn't so motivated on my diet today, someone forced me to eat things I shouldn't
My Quidco money hasn't reached the account yet either so that will help too.
My surveys now are up to £7.50 already. I think I'm going to wait till it reaches a tenner then cash it out. I doubt I'll have too much time to do them when I go back to work so best do as many as I can now.
We actually had thunder, lightening and very heavy rain earlier. It's supposed to be summer.
Just heard also that poor Bruce Forsyth passed away. How sad, he's been on the tele as long as I can remember.Emptying my lake with a teaspoon0 -
Have been in contact again with CCs just to keep them updated on the situation. I did it through the secure messaging service ( what a chicken I am). Anyway they have replied and are absolutely fine with it. They couldn't have been nicer to be honest.
Just knowing that helps my stress levels a little.
Once Christmas is out the way and my accounts are all at their targets and stable I will be working out a way of upping the payments properly and really getting the ball rolling. :TEmptying my lake with a teaspoon0 -
Monday morning again. How time flies when you're [STRIKE]having fun[/STRIKE] debt busting
My EF is back up to half way :T. Have been rounding down accounts and moving funds around and if/when my plan comes together it will be up to its target by my payday on the 15th September.
My surveys are now up to £8.25. Hopefully another couple will come through today and make it a tenner :T. My Quidco money also hit the account so I transferred it straight to the EF.
Fingers crossed this enthusiasm continues, as I see myself getting closer to my targets, the focus increases.
We have some funds in the main account which will be used for the week for any top up shops and anything left over on Thursday evening will be transferred to EF too. I have some money in my purse too (not a lot) and will aim to use this instead of the bank money. Which will leave more left to transfer on Thursday
Miserable weather today so plan to stay indoors and do some more chores

You mentioned in your first post that you hoped to help others one day.
THANK YOU for the encouragement I have found in this thread.
Hi Old Geezer. Love the username
Thanks for popping in. I have found ALL my motivation and encouragement from others on this site. As my signature says (and stolen from another poster) I am emptying my lake with a teaspoon. My teaspoon is ready for action lol
We made this mountain and we will climb it one day at a time and one day I'm gonna sit on my backside and slide all the way down the other side like :jEmptying my lake with a teaspoon0 -

Hi Narola
I can assure you the optimism isn't always there, hence the reason I come on this site every day. Ive had my fair share of Bleh days but I have to remind myself that it was good while it lasted and it wasn't built up over night, so won't disappear overnight either. I read lots of posts, diaries and threads constantly looking for ideas and inspiration. I've stopped looking at the overall picture now and plan to chop my debt into sections and tackle one goal at a time.
I noticed your signature and see that you are also making progress, well done and keep going.

Hi, just caught up with your diary. So sorry to hear about your dog. You've done so well with sorting your debt out.
I'm off too for the school hols, just getting to the slightly bored phase now but we're off to Cornwall on Thursday for 9 days so that will round the holidays off nicely before the madness starts again!0 -
Hi Louby
School hols are great but as you said I too am getting a little bored. I'm off up North for a few days tomorrow. It will be a nice change.
Another one off to Cornwall, I love it there but havent been for a long time. Maybe something to think about next year.
My debt will be around for a long time yet but at least it's not causing the amount of stress we've had in the past. Slow and steady wins the race
Enjoy your break away and hopefully you will get some lovely weather

Hello diary world
I've been away for a few days and it made a lovely change. Been very spoilt by DD and waited on hand and foot. Although I can't help myself and found myself hanging washing out and just pottering around.
Had messages from BC who have now defaulted our accounts as I asked them to do. To top it all they even backdated them to March :T. MBNA on the other hand are playing a little harder to get, saying that I need to wait until about 6 months in. Well that will be very soon so hopefully they will follow suit.
Not the best scenario to have accounts defaulted but at least they fall off after 6 years. This give us an end date to aim for to restore our credit files. Not that I EVER want credit again because I don't. Defaulted accounts also mean that no further interest or charges can be brought so a bonus there I suppose.
Not too much of a spendy few days but I did treat DD and her partner to a meal out one evening. Only £30 but it was saved and budgeted for so I don't feel guilty
Just a quick update as I have washing on the go already, dishes to do and hoovering that needs doing. Leaving grown men on their own is a risky business. Well it is in my house. Their tidy is certainly not my tidy :rotfl:

Afternoon all
We have sunshine :T. I am about to venture out the garden and do some general tidying. I should make the most of the nice weather as I go back to work on Friday. As much as I moan I do like the routine when I'm back at work. Being at home makes me a little lazy
Debt wise, I'm still plodding along. DH wanted to go to bingo but I reminded him that we would spend lots of money there and if we won it would only be around £25 a £50 not vey :money:
We decided against it ( well I convinced him)
Managed to add some more to my EF and when payday comes it will be up to its target (ish) I'm going to try and add a few bits and pieces to it in the next couple of weeks too.
I'm itching to get this up and then I can really start to make some vast improvements to the other smaller accounts.
My aim is still Christmas to have all accounts at their targets and if I stay on track and focussed we should be able to do it. It works out on paper so I know it can be done. Just need to watch the spends.
Budgets done this week and groceries came in slightly under budget so another bonus there. Have lots of freezer food so will be meal planning for the week and try to avoid any top up shops.
I have lots of stuff to sort out to so may find some eBay items and I currently have £15 in surveys that I will be withdrawing
