    Fridaaayyyyy :j

Last day at work then a week off phew. I so need the time off I’m shattered and mentally worn out. I intend to make the most of the time off and will be looking at ways to tackle my short term goal. Am currently paying it at £25 per week. When I get paid I plan to send some more over to it and get it under the thousand if possible. Once this one is clear I will be able to say I’ve cleared one debt at least which will free up some money for another one :T

Pouring with rain today too :(

Just been to post my letters off to a DCA that are now managing our Halifax loans. I’ve sent them our I&E form and a monthly offer of payment. Scary times but a good feeling that I’m dealing with it and not hiding from it. I plan to start tackling these when and if I get a positive reply from them ( I hope )

Have restarted my YNAB as I found it so confusing. I have wiped it all clean and started again. Hopefully with more luck this time. I need to persevere with it. Me and numbers do not get on hence the boat I’m in :D

Thoroughly enjoying my time off work. Have managed to sort out the cupboard under the stairs  It was like a lucky dip, it’s dark in there and the things I found. Everything from a paintbrush to a bunch of artificial flowers :rotfl: Why we keep some things I’ll never know. Chucked loads out and now it’s sort of clear and tidy. For how long who knows. :o

Dragged the fridge freezer out too and had enough dust and cobwebs behind there to make a new rug :o. Oh embarrassing or what.

Feel better for getting a couple of jobs done and plan to tackle a new job every day this week. Generally things that get overlooked when I’m working.

Feel free to come over and help. Rubber gloves a necessity :D

    Positive update :)

Just had email confirmation from DCA accepting our reduced repayment plan. As long as we keep to our side of the bargain we will not hear anymore from them. So they say.

These were the 2 debts that worried me the most but after this I feel like :j

Already have my chicken curry on the go and have hoovered and steamed the floors. Laundry and bathroom done giving me time to catch up on :money:

    Feeling very positive this morning.

Great news from the DCA :).

...and wow! I wish someone would magic my understairs cupboard into order! Ditto the fridge/freezer which is tucked into the larder and thus doubly hard to extricate. Well done on sorting those two. Work really does get in the way, doesn't it?

    Hi Cherry and thanks

I also need to tackle the corner of my bedroom but I’m trying to find the energy and the motivation to face it :o. Heaven knows what I will find back there :rotfl:

Back to work today and already I feel like I’ve worked for a week. The shock of returning to work after a week off is like  Early night for me I think.

Have set up my new SOs for the loan payments which are now with Wescot who I might add have been quite easy to deal with so far. This will at least make me feel I am making some progress again albeit at a slower pace but any progress is progress.

BC defaulted our accounts and I no longer have online access to them I’m wondering if I will hear anything from them or another agency who will deal with our accounts as I want to set up a repayment plan with them.

I am also now waiting for our last 2 CCs to default which apparently will be at the end of October so very soon. Then I plan to set up a payment plan with them also. Once all this is in place I can then start to overpay one debt at a time and knock them off one by one. I know defaults are not ideal but I NEVER
want Credit again so it’s not a big deal for us. It purely means that no interest and charges can be added to our already mountain of debt.

Fingers crossed all this will be in place very soon so I can enter the new year with a concrete plan of action. :)

I have a few Christmas prezzies bought and I have been picking up a few extra bits of food as I go along which will help massively when Santa finally makes his entrance. not too many more prezzies to get so another bonus there. Not a Credit Card in site either

I have lots of corners like that. Perhaps we should have a competition to see what's the oddest thing found lurking?

You are doing so well this month, great to see you've avoided using the cards! It has the feel of something that's coming together nicely. :)
