I understand why you miss him, even in a noisy busy house it always seems like somethings missing without a dog.
I certainly miss having a dog but when I consider the expense like dog food, pet insurance, flea treatment, worming, new bed, leads, collar, I could go on. I really don't need that at the moment. Maybe down the line a bit it may be doable but hey hoJust popping in to say hi. I've just read your diary - about to bite the bullet and go self managed. The 6 weeks summer holidays are here for me too so hopefully I can use the time to get organised.
I have found that self managing has given us back control. You're right about having the 6 weeks to organise everything. You will be able to go back to work knowing everything is in place. I would never have known what to do if it wasn't for the NEDCAB site.Treadingonplaymobil wrote: »That's such a brave decision on the new dog - it must be really hard when you're desperate to replace the pet-shaped hole.
Well done on the ebaying! I never make time for it, there is always something more urgent to do, as I loathe and despise doing it.
I too hate ebaying but I'm thinking if I make £30. It's £30 I never had. I have to go out and post one item this morning. I'm only doing it as I'm off work and have the time. Won't be so eager when I'm back at work

hi motivated, just read your thread, good job on starting your journey.
i am pretty sure if you look on the credit card area of the forums there will be guides about enforceability etc re credit cards. you might want to post about what you have got back from the credit card companies in there or at least have a read. Sourcrates and Fat Belly are very good on that stuff too.
sorry about your dog. I would luuurve a dog, but can't cos we are renting. but one day...
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

Hi all and thanks Chevy for popping in and totally agree about Sourcrates and Fat belly. I've had some awesome advice from both.
eBay update: I made £60 :j. Never expected to get that much. I know it's not a fortune but it's £60 I never had. Have transferred it to my bank already. Will be listing a couple more bits when I get round to it.
Nothing new on the debt front really just still plodding along but working on my short term goal. I have upped my SO to them from August's payday and want to get this cleared ASAP then the money I pay them will be transferred elsewhere.
Been feeling a littlelately but not sure why. Could be that I'm on holiday from work and my daily routine has gone to pot. The sun is shining today so will venture out somewhere and hopefully lift my mood a little.
Have housework to do but need to find the motivation to get started. Maybe another coffee first then I'll think about it

Hi to anyone that lurks here
Just an update on our situation. I have beenrecently, my mood had plummeted and have been feeling utter pants of late. I haven't been able to shake it off. I think it's the constant thoughts about creditors etc haven't helped. Even though nothing bad has happened.
So I have to admit that I contacted stepchange yesterday and have asked them to support us again. They were lovely and very supportive and have agreed to help us out again. I have nothing against going it alone on the self managed route I just found that when I was with SC the worry and anxieties disappeared. Since being self managed I found it took up all of my mental energy and I lost my way on everyday things if that makes sense. I suppose it's like handing the reins over to someone else.
Already I feel a sense of relief and feel like I have a more stable plan in place. I now also have a more definite end date as opposed to not really knowing where things were going or would end up.
I felt like I was so on top of things but I also feel that it's what's brought my mood down.
Anyway enough misery, I have done budgets, budgets and more budgets and already I feel so relieved and so much more relaxed about things. Phew
Have just checked car insurance renewal date and my plan tells me that by then I will have more than enough to Tax and Insure the car with cash that we've saved. :T
My Xmas fund will also have enough too :T

Hi motivated,
Don't feel sad about going back to sc, you do what is right for you. I was with them for 3 years before going self managing.. it will all work out in the end. Just remember its a marathon not a sprint and we all need to live at the same time as repaying our debts as best we can.
Take care,

You will have learned lots from being self-managed which will stand you in good stead, but your well-being is paramount. With the weight off your mind, hopefully you'll feel better and stronger and be able to get on with other things.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Hi Cherryfudge and thankyou
I feel like I've gone back in time and now I can see my DMP with SC all set up again I feel like I did back in April/May. Onwards and upwards from now on. My creditors will be like What on earth is this woman playing at :rotfl:Emptying my lake with a teaspoon0 -
Don't worry about anyone else. You tried it, it wasn't right. At least you now know what's best for you. Everything is heading in the right direction regardless of who's holding the reins.
You should feel proud that you weren't afraid to ask for help again.£1000 Emergency fund challenge #225 - £1000.00.00/£1000- End of Baby Step 3 (A work in progress)0 -
Hi foxy and thankyou
The relief I feel is like. Now I know I will be reducing my debt again every month instead of playing around waiting for letters and basically waiting for creditors to make their next move.
I know that's what it's like in DMP land anyway but this way someone else is holding my hand.
So DH and myself treated ourselves to a late lunch/early dinner in Brewers Fayre. 2 meals for £8.99. :T. A nice, cheap treat to cheer ourselves up.
Thanks again all of you :AEmptying my lake with a teaspoon0
