    Morning world
Big discussions had this morning regarding another dog, We decided ( well I convinced DH) that the one we saw yesterday, we were not right for. He was right for us but we were not what he needs. It would be selfish of us to bring him home for our own wants. Affordability also came into it, vet bills, insurance, food, vaccinations etc. So fingers crossed someone will be along to offer him his forever home. I'm sad but being realistic.

This led to me this morning having an extra mini LBM. I had let my YNAB lapse and this morning have redone it from scratch. I have organised accounts and have drawn a some pocket money out for DH. It's a shame that I have to do this but if there is money in the bank he thinks he needs to draw it out. I have left a silly amount in there and moved the rest into our savings accounts. I have a figure in my head that I need to stash away when I get paid every month. This will be for F&F settlements (hopefully) emergency fund and car expenses and Xmas. The latter will need building up further too.

I'm off up North in a few weeks time to visit family. Have bought my train ticket a couple of weeks ago, the earlier you book the cheaper it is. £34 return :T. Now it's coming up at £110 so a bargain there.

Feeling positive this morning and back on track

This morning I have been listing a few things on eBay. It won't amount to much but every little helps and it gets rid of some clutter so a win win situation.

Checked all accounts and budget this morning and have worked out that 2 of my savings accounts will be (all going to plan) at the amounts they need to be by Christmas. These are my car tax/insurance and my Xmas fund. My car expenses are not due until around Feb/March. Once used I will start again on these 2.

My EF will be 3/4 of the way there by Xmas too. Once this is up to my planned amount it will allow me to add bigger amounts to my F&F/DMP account as I call it and will continue to build this up. I am adding to this as I go along but will be able to add higher amounts after Xmas.

Very confusing I know but it all makes sense in my head :D

Very miserable weather we have here today but I am not going out I am busy sorting out my bedroom and looking for more things to ebay.

Well my eBay listings are going well :T. So far I have one item sold £15,00. One that will sell for at least £10.00 and one that will sell and is currently up to £7.50. with 3 bidders arguing over it :D

2 other items have no interest as yet but am so pleased at how I'm doing so far. This could get addictive and I will have nothing left in the house :rotfl: To think it's only stuff that has been stashed away and not used for a very long time.

Runs off to rummage through the house for some more stuff :p

Well done on your eBay. We have regular puppy convo's in our house but we talk ourselves out of them. our springer isn't the full shilling and is enough work herself. I'm always abit sad when I have to be practical.

    Hi quin and thankyou.
You are so right about being practical. The rescue dog we saw is still there and my heart is like "come on let's go". My head is like "don't be stupied".

My sister has had springers, they are very lively characters. :)

We are used to lively dogs with lots of character but she's just loopy. The few times she's been left in kennels they have bene like "I think there is something wrong with your dog":rotfl: but she is healthy and great with kids and just beautiful.

The only way you will get over it is if you stop checking. Sadly we aren't allowed a rescue dog due to having young children...it's a stupid rule really. I think growing up with dogs are great and they should take every chance on individual merit rather than a blanket rule. I know they do it to insure dogs go to forever homes and aren't abandoned or sent back but we already have a dog and always have so it's not like we are unaware of the work involved in a dog.it clearly annoys me...sorry for my rant:o

Rant away Quintwins lol. I don't mind honest. I too have never been without a dog and our house is awful at the moment. My boy weighed 6.5 stone, suffered with terrible wind and slobbered (what's to miss I hear you ask) :rotfl: I do have to be realistic though (she says) :p

I understand why you miss him, even in a noisy busy house it always seems like somethings missing without a dog.

Just popping in to say hi. I've just read your diary - about to bite the bullet and go self managed. The 6 weeks summer holidays are here for me too so hopefully I can use the time to get organised.
  • That's such a brave decision on the new dog - it must be really hard when you're desperate to replace the pet-shaped hole.

Well done on the ebaying! I never make time for it, there is always something more urgent to do, as I loathe and despise doing it.
Trying to figure out a whole new life. Trying to figure out a whole new budget.
Divorcing, unclear on final debt total right now, but focusing on building a financial buffer zone.
