After talking about it for months, DS called EE and separated our accounts. After signing up for an account that let both be billed (my account) and data could be transferred a few years ago, he has my account but I pay for both!! He will be 31 in two months time!!!! It took almost an hour and the CSA was definitely looking up how to do things while talking to him/us, with no verbal feedback to suggest he was working on it. Not great. And then, unfortunately, while he could separate them, he could not change the name back to me on mine. Apparently I must write a real letter, we must both sign it and send my Marriage certificate! I asked what happens if I don't have one (I do, but I am not sending it to a mobile phone operator) and asked if a picture of my DL will suffice. After more delay, it seems it will do. I cannot email them, because EE do not list a CS email contact point. They happily combined them on the say so of DS, and suddenly I am persona non grata and need his permission to have my own account again! I have been happier but at least it is not @LadyWithAPlan and O2.
It seems its all action your end what with the ants, the winds and solar panels.
My sister just got her DS off her mobile also aged 30He was quite grumpy about it despite earning loads
DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

. At least our DS has been on a salary-controlled diet is very poor circumstances until the last year (not asking, but receiving top ups from his parents to keep him going)
No damage to the flowerpots @Karmacat, but they did move one that is actually in two pieces without wrecking it. I may need to move the two my Mum bought us for our 30th Wedding anniversary that are close to the scaffold, just to be on the safe side.
DH defiantly insisted he would be the one to climb on the shed roof and achieved four out of fivestrips - so the shed is basically weatherproof but unfinished. I also agreed with the Village Hall committee that they would "buy" three of the off-cut lengths to redo the shed roof over there. £60 is a bargain for them and takes us back to roughly what I expected (not charging them for clout nails or bituminous adhesive as we needed these. They would have needed two rolls at £56 each but three slightly less than half offcuts (they get three pieces that are 3.5m long) and we get those three rolls for £36 instead of £56. Win-win and very Martin, if I do say so myself!
I was very relieved DH did it to be honest, as when he came indoors after spending the afternoon out there, he was cold and wet, and it was almost dark. I had dozed off with snuggly dog on my lap and missed the snow and hail he endured while out there. It was sunny and cold when we cut the rolls to length before I came in with needy whingey dog (who just wanted to cuddle). I did warm a small loaf of homemade bread so the crust was extra crunchy to have bread and butter with cauliflower cheese, and I made a small apple crumble as a thankyou treat (the crumble mix was in the freezer so it was very easy to just peel, core and chop two apples and cover them). He fell asleep in the chair after supper! It has been a while since he did anything that strenuous.
Today we need to move the motorhome (which is Sorn'd and full of plastic storage crates of things like Christmas Decs and cocktail paraphernalia) it might be to the Church, just for the day, rather than the farm, as I may want to call in that location if we go on-market with the house to sell it.
I am expecting the house renewal paperwork back today too, as I did receive a confirmation that they are acting on it.

After (mis)using the custom prescription link on the Dr's website to ask them to take the block off my reactive asthma inhaler because I can't get an appointment with the asthma nurse before May, they phoned me this morning and have miraculously found one on 28th March! So actually, that worked well. Apparently I have been ordering more than normal, so the Doctor would not prescribe without me seeing a clinician. I explained that the Pharmacist read me the riot act about using OOD medicines and I had three that needed to be returned for disposal, and that the additional budesonide inhaler was recommended by the pharmacist because of supply chain issues (so they told me to order one more so I have a spare, for those occasions when they are having trouble). I just know she didn't write it down. Hey ho.
The electrician is here doing the electrics for the Solar installation. He has warmed up a bit since he arrived. He was initially a bit frosty but a bit of cake helped. I've noticed that most tradesmen warm up if you are even slightly nice to them. It makes me wonder how unpleasant some people must be to a person who is just trying to do their job. It makes me realise why it is so hard to get people prepared to come to the house to do jobs, they must have to have pretty thick skins from what I have figured out.

Solar in and working. All good. I now only need to bring the motorhome home and park it up (this morning). I got up (briefly) just before 05.00 to check and it was fully charged so the fiddling I did has worked and the battery was fully charged. I emailed the Scottish people to tell them we have the installation, that we don't want to change the tariff to a SEG one before September (when our current fix ends), and we are content to leave the DD as it is for the time being. I asked them to confirm that they have annotated our account to reflect the anticipated change in consumption (flap, flap, oink, oink methinks). DH now needs to build a shield/cupboard around the inverter and battery as the electrician had to be talked into putting these outside the back door (under the extended roof where 90% of the time it is dry). He also left me a set of connecting cables so that if we want to, we could add a second battery (not this year, but if we don't move, we might).
No call from the estate agent again yesterday. It feels as though we have dropped off their radar. We need to decide if we want to go to market properly, I think. With a forthcoming trip to Scotland I favour waiting until we are back from that - so May to do this.
@edinburgher it is (shhh) - still a year before SPA and a bus pass (not that there are any buses in this village after 13 years of public service erosion and funding cuts of over 40%; more in real terms). We are off out for coffee with a couple who adore our dog and lost theirs a year ago - so that will be lovely, and DS is coming over later. Best of all, my friend who has been radio silence for two years has sent me a card, note and gift. Lots of family stuff going on there. A joy to hear from her though.
Thank you for remembering, my virtual inspirational friend xSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
