I'm sorry if my wording was unclear - I meant that the OP would claim CA for himself as carer for his son/for caring for his son.

Sorry to seem pernickety, I was sure you meant that but as the OP has already talked about himself getting DLA (which I queried), I thought it best to clarify the point.:)
  • As a couple you can't earn 110 and get ca, is that right?

Or could my wife get ca with me working full time?

No, CA has nothing to do with household finances (although IS does). The person claiming CA has to earn no more than £110 pw, their spouse could be a millionaire and CA wouldn't be affected.

With respect, you still seem be very confused.

Please make an arrangement to see someone at your local CAB office that will be able to provide you with all the information you need.

If there is a charity related to the condition your son has, it would be worth asking for advice from them too. It can be very supportive to hear how other parents have dealt with all the issues.
  • Thanks everybody so much, I will try to make another appointment with the cab

Has anybody got a link to make an appointment with them please?

There's a 'find your local CAB' on this page -
