Can I get jsa while I look for another part time job?
Will I get sanctioned for leaving my job for the reasons of caring for a disabled child?
I already get Dla the highest level, and will apply for careers allowance soon.
You wouldn't be able to get JSA , not least because you will be getting carers allowance. This are both benefits given as a replacement for wages so can only get one.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

Does your wife claim Carers Allowance at the moment because only one of you can get it.0

No.
You can run different scenarios through a benefits calculator - that will show what you can claim.
For your own sanity, it might be worth you and your wife having part-time jobs so that you get a break from caring.0 -

Thanks, so that's a no to being sanctioned ?
So I can give notice to leave my job to be a carer?
I will apply for income based jsa and look for a part time job.
I will also apply for carers allowance which means I only get a small amount more than standard jsa, but I hope to soon be back in work in a part time job.0 -
I wonder what proof I will need to not get sanctioned?
I already get the highest level Dla, will this be enough?0 -
My experience with the job centre, they will still try to sanction, they will make me jump through hoops to prove I had to leave to care for my disabled child.0

I suggest you get a benefits check and advice from your local CAB.
What level is the care component for your child's DLA?Alice Holt Forest situated some 4 miles south of Farnham forms the most northerly gateway to the South Downs National Park.0 -

Highest level
In all honesty my local CAB are not that good, I know they are all volunteers and they are mean well, but I have to wait so long and it's not been worth it in my experience, I find mse great0 -
OP
you've already been told that if you claim carers allowance, you would be able to claim income support instead of JSA.
you arre repeatedly asking the same question while not reading the advice that people are giving you0 -
Can I do a quick benefits check up here for the MSE experts please?
We get housing benefit and ct benefit
We get child tax credit, and at the moment WTC
I will leave full time employment soon to provided needed care for my disabled child, who my wife has been caring for full time but she is not able to provide sufficient care as he gets older and stronger.
I'm a little concerned about the benefit cap, as we live in London our housing benefit is £350 per week, so with other benefits we are well over the cap.
I have been in full time employment for over a year so I gather the cap won't apply for the first ten months or so, but after that it will apply if I haven't found a suitable part time job by then? Is this correct?
If I get WTC then the cap won't apply. But I don't think I can get enough hours to qualify for WTC, isn't it 24hrs min needed.
So I'm worried about what will happen after ten months and the benefit cap will start to apply to my family0
