Will they let me downgrade for the remaining 2 months of my contract through ?
I bet they won't - they prefer to shoot themselves in the feet .
They let me do it. My 12 month contract is up on the 4th April & I said I was unhappy at the prospect of losing the channels & they said although they are still in talks & wont confirm that its 100% they are losing the contract, they will let me leave my TV package penalty free.Dwy galon, un dyhead,

Called today (31st Jan). Told that I cannot cancel now as negotiations with Discovery are ongoing until midnight(!)
If no agreement, I can cancel tomorrow free of charge despite minimum term ending February 2018.

They haven't said that the channels will go off at midnight tonight, but that they may be removed an unknown date from then.0

One wrinkle to be aware of if you're thinking of switching to BT. If, like me, you've connected RF2 on the back of your Sky+ HD box to the loft distribution amp then put magic eyes on your remote TV's to watch/control the Sky box on the remote TV's (admittedly in analogue not digital) - kiss that goodbye with the ultraHD BT TV box as it only has one HDMI output on the back and no scart to attach a modulator. Also the UHD box needs to be hard wired (ethernet) to the BT home hub (router), so if like me you can't do this, it's £20 for a pair of BT mini connectors to connect via your mains wiring. BT do offer an Extrabox - for £99 + £5pm!! - but after research on the net I'm probably going to buy additional mini connectors and either BT Youview+ or BT UHD boxes off Ebay (not sure the smaller BT TV boxes receive HD) for our 2 remote TV's.0
