Electric cars

Only you would deliberately misinterpret what I actually said as that.
But you clearly stated:"Super cheap city commuting" is a bit of a busted flush
Anyways, the Tato Nano wasn't an EV and was outside of your reference to "The electric "super cheap city car" has been around as a concept since at least the Enfield 8000 in the 70s, via La Rochelle and AutoLib', G-Wiz etc etc. It's really just an update on the basic "transport for the people" idea that got Henry started with the Model T.
And I'm struggling to see where you referenced the Zotye before, nor how pointing to a small EV that already sells, supports your argument that small cheap EV's aren't wanted.
Are you really going to continue down this rabbit hole that the world doesn't want small cheap EV's?Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 20kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.

Remind you of the Mitsu i? You understand the difference between a concept car and a production model, right?0

Just because CleanTechnica hasn't plugged it doesn't mean it doesn't exist...
Perhaps you didn't see the sales figures I also linked to.
Well, they certainly don't seem to want the ones they can buy currently. Probably because in the local markets, they aren't actually cheap.
So, to be clear, you didn't mention the Zoyte in your post I commented on (just tried to sneak it in later), and the Tata Nano you referred to wasn't an EV, you specifically referred to the ICE version:the Tata Nano tried to take that market on, at a tiny fraction of the price we're looking at here, and limped out of production in 2018 after a decade.
but are now trying to refer to the possible comeback EV vehicle instead. A vehicle that you can't claim didn't sell, because it's still new.
So, once again, having said something comical, you are now trying to defend your statements by re-writing history, adding in cars you didn't mention before I responded, or trying to misrepresent an ICE as an EV.
Do you now understand my recent comment where I said it's getting harder to defend you as 'just' being a FUDster, when you seem to be sitting, waiting troll-like to post false negatives against all comments on an EV thread.

Simply trolling, since I clearly wasn't referring to "the local markets", but to 'us', as per my comment:Obviously it won't be a high quality, nor I suspect 'safe enough' car for true comparison, but certainly a step in the right direction for super cheap city commuting.Mart. I also understand the difference between a concept and trailing something that's a fairly straightforward development of an existing production model, to see if there's any market demand.
The drivetrain that would've-could've been in the Nano EV really did (kind've) hit production in the slightly larger Indica a year later. You may remember the Indica better as the godawful and shortlived "StreetRover".

It even hit UK roads... Well, kinda.

(The plate on the car in that photo seems to be registered as a Tata Gurkha, the similarly-awful big pickup that sold abysmally here for a few years. But DVLA don't seem to know what or where it is now - perhaps it's had a plate swap.)0 -
Again, having a test mule doesn't mean any real commitment to the market. Lots of development cars are registered but never go anywhere.
Wasn't it a city rover?0 -
Sorry, you're right - The Indica was indeed the CityRover. I'm getting confused with the Rover 200 Streetwise, the risible stilts-and-tupperware thing.0

Not really risible, just ahead of it's time.
Take a small hatchback and make it "urban", which subsequently lots of companies have done and could be seen as the forerunner of the current SUV/crossover trend that everyone is jumping on.0 -
