Electric cars

I don't think electric trucks would fit a triple shift system though, unless lower running costs compensated, there must be a substantial diesel bill with three shifts. Initially it's more likely they will be restricted to niche areas, but it's a massive niche with room to expand out of as battery tech improves, basically any truck that does 500 miles or less a day.
Battery Tech is the only thing holding them back and it's inevitable they will replace diesel, it's just a matter of when.
I was thinking that there was less to go wrong and if you look at - yes I'm being simplistic - the leaps and bounds of battery technology for phones, it isn't a big leap for even those of us who are clueless about electric trucks, to imagine that battery weight and life will be improved.
There are a couple of comments that I would make. I think whatever replaces diesel is some way off yet compared to cars, firstly because the improvement in diesel engines with Euro 6 means that they are way less polluting than they were -it has been suggested that the air that a Euro 6 sucks in is dirtier than the stuff that comes out of the exhaust in cities.
And the second thing is that some of the manufacturers have been heavily investing in CNG and LNG technology and trialling it with good results.
It's certainly interesting times.
And it's nice to see a thread where there is mostly discussion instead of a slanging match!0 -

Still a good idea though. The mind of the bigot is like the pupil of the eye; the more light you pour upon it, the more it will contract.

Shares 8% down? Perhaps a good time to buy if one had the cash.
Or perhaps better to sell?

Haha that would be entertaining.
I used to have a link somewhere and posted it in DT at one point, I can't find it anymore, this is the only loose reference I can find.

But it probably comes from this

The introduction of EURO VI has been a major achievement for trucks and buses, with regulated emissions being slashed to near-zero levels, down 98% since 1990.0 -
Google Tesla short sellers and see how many $bn's they've lost over the years betting against the company, or even trying to push the price down with negative stories.Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 20kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.

Right because there are no known cases of an internal combustion engined car crashing and catching fire ... oh, wait ....0 -
