We have 3 small girls and so we don't go out but now we make it a fun family day, we always make the girls cards from anonymous admirers with a chocolate inside each for them, when they come home the cards are waiting for them on the floor.

Normally the girls help make mummy or daddy a card from each of us which is fun and we keep them as they mark a progress as each learns to draw them colour then write.

We celebrate love as a family now...

Talk about having to do something! On Facebook news feed, a business selling flowers saying now taking orders for the date and women tagging their partners, makes it sound like they don't bother rest of year and you need to tell them because the date says you must!

Hubby and I reuse a valentine's Cards. He has already bought me a 25p (yellowed sticker) bunch of daffodils and we will be sharing a 75% off box of hotel chocolate chocolates on the night. We will have a special meal out when we are in Lisbon, Portugal (mini break- hubbies xmas present to me). We very rarely go out on the actual evening unless we can find a place that doesn't overinflate their prices.

I was thinking of making this:

    http://www.instructables.com/id/52-Things-I-Love-About-You-Card/

I was considering making a card but I've found a few cards online I quite like (Although £3.45 for a card?!) I found a few really nice Christmas cards in Card Factory so I might even pop in there for the card.

I work Monday-Friday 9-5, and he lives 40 miles away (so doesn't give us much time to do anything on a Tuesday night) so we're thinking of putting off Valentine's day until the following weekend. Then it'll probably just be our usual of lazing about, watching films & eating junk (so romantic!)

Wow! You are easily pleased! Is that all it takes for you to be smitten?

As for your OP, when I was married I always made it special and it had to be on the day.

I like to cook so would do something I had not done before, got some Oysters and Champagne one year.

A simple thing you can do whether you are a man or a woman is a head to toe massage, with a promise it will not lead anywhere, it is for relaxation, of course it always does but only after an hour of massage,

Get the right oils and a few essential oil concentrates and you are done.

You can keep this thread handy for occasions when you need/want to return what you eaten.
On topic - wishing everybody to be happy on that day , be it because of well thought presents or comfort of no expense chilling time or freedom to not to think about it due to being single.
The word "dilemma" comes from Greek where "di" means two and "lemma" means premise. Refers usually to difficult choice between two undesirable options.
Often people seem to use this word mistakenly where "quandary" would fit better.

I'm having the Grandson overnight on Saturday so that Son In Law can take our daughter away for the night somewhere romantic.

Why am I last in the queue where romance is concerned? :(

Depends on whether it's 6 months smitten or something longer term. If longer term (some actual memories together) then this is pretty amazing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K9wRbH0NqQ0

    Hey OP

Don't make a fuss. Please? Youre now putting him under pressure to do something. That's how blokes think. Just don't do anything ok? Get a takeaway or something and chill out. If you MUST do something then do it after

If you end up doing something for V-Day, that's very selfish of you because I will interpret that as you trying to manipulate the situation and training him to ensure he does something for you on an even grander scale and putting him under pressure year after year until he breaks.

    It'll never laaaast!
