  • CLF - Good on you for asking for a good price for your work :j I know what you mean about not being able to ask for the price per hour but it still has to represent the value for you. So many artists etc sell their stuff too cheaply if you ask me. Not everyone will pay it but keep the faith! People (who have never been) tell me my classes are too expensive but the people who come tell me how much value they get out of them so I'm holding firm...not in a money-hungry sort of way but if they thought about the price per hour (training, preparing, organising, travelling, overheads) they'd soon realise the price per hour we were working for. Oh gosh, sorry for the ramble... :o

    Thanks La E :)

Aaaaaaaaargh!, the online tax thing is driving me mental

I was apparently okay end for verification overnight, I've got right to the end and every time I hit submit it asks me to verify again, which then takes me back to veridentity  I then go back to the tax return (where I'm still logged in) and try to send and it does the same again :mad::mad:

I will try again tomorrow in case there is an error their end but I swear next year I'm going to submit on paper.

Really do need to spring into action!

    Things for today:

    * training for work in my home down so saving about 40 miles in travel
    * sausage roll, cinnamon bun and yogurt out of freezer for madam's lunch. I'll grab a pot of soup. Oh has ys chicken drumsticks and bread
    * going to pick up a dress bought on a fb site and a pair of boots from fleabay today
    * do a load of washing & hang up
    * call the bank and old employer in my lunch break
    * am sure today will be stressful as I'm not really working today but have 2 clients who are being made homeless and things went nuclear on Friday when I wasn't working...
    * while I'm in town will go to pound shop and get shampoo & conditioner
    * do some more of my tax return tonight. Excited to find out what my tax rebate will be. How long does it normally take before you're notified?

  • Hi all

Busy day at the paid stuff here too. 3 hours done on job no. 2 which I am pleased with.
HM Pizza for tea, cheap tea and a great way to use up odd bits and pieces.
Picked up a couple of YS things in the Co-op, rare finds around here. Then had to faff about at the self service check out because the system didnt recognise the prices.
Heating has been on a lot - its been really cold.

Just sorting out Mum and Dads home insurance. They rent and dont have anything of great value so the premium is about £40 - their existing insurer was going to charge them a £20 arrangement fee on top of this. What a rip off!!! Glad I stopped it happening, will go elsewhere for them.

Once I get this insurance sorted its jim jams on and feet up. Oh and I need to take the mince out of the freezer so I can make a chilli before I go to work tomorrow.
  • La E hope you are feeling better. rest up.

Today I'm working from home, so plan on being productive:
    Check banking, surveys, FPL
    PAD to savings
    Meals from stores
small shop for things on list only
blanket over legs to keep warm ;)
    heating on airer/over radiators
knitting tonight - doubles as a leg warmer ;)
Log in to HMrC to check they have received my payment

    Will check back later

All done apart from small shop, went to wholesalers instead. This was on the to do list for the weekend, so just bought it forward.

Used some cooked macaroni, a couple of squaffles, bag of frozen bns and 3 different types of pasta in a bns macaroni cheese thing :A had some 'sauce' left over, has gone in the fridge and will go in sausage casserole tomorrow
Got lots of work done :D
    Washing almost up to date ;
Ordered new carpet for smalls room :)
Need to get some frozen beans out of freezer for slow cooker tomorrow

Purple fairy, what's a squaffle?? It sounds most cheerful! :D

All my list got done today (but then it barely had anything on it :rotfl: ). Also went shoppig with Mr Cheery this evening - spent £25 which seems to be averaging out as our normal weekly shop :j

Its a slice of BNS cut to make it look like a round waffle (potato waffle styleee) they are ok, but wouldn't rush to buy them again (unless ys of course :rotfl:) they aren't very MSE for what they actually are, but v buying chips from the chippy they are both on purse and arteries ;) well done on £25 shop, wish I could get it near that :)

Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
    Evening All

After all the chat about the food budget last week I totted up my receipt pile and it worked out £238 this month (payday in 1 day and won't be shopping tomorrow) so less than the £280 I'd thought we were spending. Although that may also be the result of an extremely poor week where I spent very little on food, not in a good way.

    Bits and bobs
    1. Checked banking.
    2. Totalled business drawings.
    3. OHs biggest pension statement came through today. Need to update spreadsheet.
    4. Walked to save bus fares. Only £1.50 for the two rides home.
    5. Spent time talking to FD regarding our bank switch. Nearly there now.
    6. Cashed in a free Costalott, really tired after working all weekend.
    7. Took a flask out in the afternoon.
    8. Free nibbles and drinks at event tonight.
    9. Tidied receipts out of purse.
    10. Packed snacks for school run.
