Hi All
Its pay day, had £200 left over from last months pay hooray! paid over £100 off credit cards and keeping the other £100 in the account as car service is due BOO but essential as we have a hybrid (no tax and cheap fuel) and have to service or the warranty will be taken off the battery.
All cleaning and washing done over the weekend, even got some stuff out on the line.
I have a buffet to make tonight for an event tomorrow and I've just had an order for a breakfast meeting on Friday (I run my own catering company as well as working full time, got to pay off these debts!) I also did food for a friends dad's b'day party on Saturday and made £60 cash in hand which paid for our weekly groceries. I walked over to collect plates from a customer last week.
Brought lunch and snacks in to work though did stop for a Matcha Latte on my lunchtime walk but got 10% discount
Its day 25 of not eating out at all - no bought lunches or takeaways or restaurant meals I think that's why I had a leftover £200 in the bank from last month!
I have a press interview to do this afternoon for a Food Waste App I've been using at home - exciting
Bye

Afternoon all, have been for a coffee with a friend and DS this morning, she picked me up and paid for my coffee, all I've spent is 50p towards the car park so that was a bonus! This afternoon myself and DS have got our 8 week check up appointments at the doctors so I can use my bus pass to get there and shouldn't have to pay for anything else! Its also payday today which is good as I need to get back into my MSE ways! Other things Ill do today are:
- Load of washing and tumble dry
- Heating will be on as its freezing!
- A few surveys
- B/L/D from home
- Low spend day
Have a good Monday everyonex

Greetings Monday Money Savers,
Now that I'm fully over the flu, I really want to revisit our Loan Pay Down Fund (LPDF!) so that every little budget tweak & saving I can make ends up being a payment, however small, into that. Today's been quite useful so far:
*Did laundry overnight on the cheap tariff. All now drying on the heated airer.....much cheaper than a tumble-drier when the weather's too icy or wet for pegging stuff outside. Re-filled washer & will put on timer for another half-price load tonight.
*Not quite an NSD as have bought.......1 first class stamp. It's my car day today. I did drop mr f in town first thing, but it's so cold & foggy here, I didn't feel like staying out in it.
*Posted ebay package.
*Renewed our annual 'Friends' membership to local garden. Have been pondering this, but as we go about 4 or 5 times a year & we are in credit after 2.5 visits......plus there are a couple of other useful freebies, it seemed worth doing.
*Paid £25 knitting money (from before Christmas but only collected at the weekend) into bank & transferred it across to LPDF. Intend to make a big payment off this loan very soon & am already working on building up the next £1000 to do the same again later in the year.
*Also paid £20 into bank account which I found in our grocery budget purse. Most of it was leftovers from the cash we withdrew to treat us & nephews to a takeaway while they were staying. We used a local indie pizza place which is waaaayyy cheaper than the big biggies & so it felt good to be paying the surplus cash back into our account.
*Paid our Aldi grocery spend across to CC (only used to build up points for luvverly vouchers!)
*Updated budget book with all of the above shennigans.
*Paid 4 x 50ps into my sealed pot & oddments of loose change into our shrapnel pot.
*Did some surveys. It looks as though I might have been selected for a longer survey project which will pay £15 on completion. Also, if anyone does Toluna, there was a 5000 points survey knocking around this morning, which I did. It took about an hour but the points were a lot more than the usual level. Am v close to payout on Toluna so am upping my box-clicking activity levels.
Still to do this afternoon:
*Find paperwork for the new heater we bought last month. Excellent heater.......but one of the legs has snapped in two. We want a replacement leg preferably......I bet this turns into a saga & we have to have a completely new heater.
*Make tomorrow's packed lunch, which will be yesterday's leftover lamb stew.
*Write up kitchen calendar. Usually a Jan 1st job for me, but it was overlooked because of the flu. I'd forgotten about it entirely until mr f said he'd got no idea which bin to put out last night.......all that type of scintillating organisational activity is usually on my calendar.
*Do some darning (using my vintage wooden darning mushroom bought for £1.50 from ebay!)
*Knit more of the new sock order I cast on last night. One pair of size 5 is going to be so much speedier than 4 pairs of size 11s!
*Marinate chicken drumsticks for tonight's meal & freeze the rest for paying forward for another meal.
*Fill a hot water bottle to put behind my back while I'm sitting down this afternoon to keep the downstairs heating off until 5pm. Trying to make up for all the extra heating we've used over the weekend to keep our guests warm.
Well that's me for today. Off to start those outstanding afternoon jobs.

Yippee, a shiny new thread and shiny new people! :T
DNMS, as soon as you submit your tax return it tells you on screen what you are owed (or owe ) and then it takes maybe 2 or 3 weeks for it to be credited and then you will get a notification by post. It's all very speedy!
I've located all the paperwork for doing mine but what a faff getting verified is, I even had to send selfies so they could compare them with my passport photos???! DH didn't have to do that but I think I answered a question wrong, they asked how many years ago I took out a hire purchase agreement. I consider my mobile phone to be on HP but apparently they don't
I am off work today as I have CarpaI TunneI Syndrome which is going to mean picking up a wrist brace from the chemist. Luckily FIL gave DH stacks of Naproxen recently which will save me paying to fulfil a prescription.

- Checked payslip to ensure no errors
- No drinkies and an early night!

Thanks guys :A It's weird, I kinda feel fine as long as I don't eat, but then I get so hungry I eat (slice of toast this morning) and then I feel shocking...Kinda figured I couldn't go into work without having eaten anything but at the same time feel like I'm pulling a sickie because I sorta feel fine...NHS website says I should stay indoors for 48 hours so maybe I shouldn't feel so bad.
I've crocheted myself a slouchy beanie and going to look for a free pattern for a hat for OH
CLF - Good on you for asking for a good price for your work :j I know what you mean about not being able to ask for the price per hour but it still has to represent the value for you. So many artists etc sell their stuff too cheaply if you ask me. Not everyone will pay it but keep the faith! People (who have never been) tell me my classes are too expensive but the people who come tell me how much value they get out of them so I'm holding firm...not in a money-hungry sort of way but if they thought about the price per hour (training, preparing, organising, travelling, overheads) they'd soon realise the price per hour we were working for. Oh gosh, sorry for the ramble...0 -
Cont...
Luckily the CTS is in my left hand so I will still be able to operate a mouse! It's a bit worrying though as I know I wouldn't employ a freelancer with any sort of RSI so I need not to make too much of a song and dance about this. Ifit doesn't right itself in a few weeks it will also put the my bosh on the soft play thing as I now can't lift with that hand.
I won £10 at bingo last night which I shared with my mum so my half covered what I had spent pretty much.
I stopped at the local Mr T to see if the courgetti spaghetti was reduced. BIG mistake! Just as I was congratulating myself on walking out without buying anything I felt a tap on my shoulder and D S was in there visiting a friend that works there. 'Do you want anything while we're here' I foolishly asked :rotfl: Yes, of course he did, bloomin' finest crab and chilli linguine! Never send your kids to catering college because they develop expensive tastes!
I'm off to attempt to do my tax return, the verification thing timed out in the end (despite, or maybe because of the selfies) I only attempted the verification as I felt sure it would be easier than trying to find my old login but I may well have filed it after last year so I need to go look for it.

* Put away dry washing, iron only what "needs" it Done and only 1 thing to iron so will leave that til tomorrow when todays washing is dry rather then heat iron up for 1 item
* Check banking/update spreadsheets done
* Check fpl/luckypnohe/numberplate done
* Search on inbox£'s as really want to get to payout and it takes forever done
* Do a bit on swag$s even if its just the games/poll - every little helps done whilst on hold with energy supplier

* Plan our tea.... Prepped, having a comfort food meal as I know dh has had a rubbish day, so I've got a couple of cheap mushroom soups into a casserole dish, added in yesterdays leftover peas, with a couple of chopped carrots, some sweetcorn, cauliflower rice that I'd made the other day but not eaten, will add in the leftover chicken. Top with leftover mash and grate on some cheese
* Clean bathrooms done
* Clean kitchen & refill stardrops mixture done
* Talk through with dh tonight about holidays this year, we have a couple of uk breaks planned but want to get dh to book his time off work for the rest of his days soon so that he's got breaks from work spread over the year. done over email as he'd had the same thought as me, again done whilst on hold

Also done
** Online chat with old energy company, didn't resolve the problem but now know it needs sorting via new energy supplier
** Rang new energy supplier using free phone number then emailed them for free after being cut off
** Checked via online acc to make sure the interest & late charges had been taken off my Debenhams store card after complaining last week
** Set up a new tab on my spreadsheet to record meter readings for my own record, as not impressed with new supplier so far!
** Cleared and filed all receipts
** Made fairy cakes using the last of the butter in the house, not enough to make a full batch but making 8 so that the kids can have 1 a day in their packed lunches (will freeze and take out one at a time) done this as I'm eating too much bread because we have the butter in. Dh has spread on his sarnies which I don't like, so using it up this way will hopefully help me get back to better eating!
** Updated wall calendar & online calendar to reflect days holidays hubby has booked for the year
I love making these lists as now I've updated it I realise that I have actually got more done then just waiting on hold for the energy supplier!Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.
