:rotfl: :rotfl: at you all mistaking other people for your OHs :rotfl: I've done it too - although only taking, not touching!
I always do pizza dough in the bread machine too :j I usually do twice the quantity - roll it out straight out of the machine, stick in the oven to harden then top and cook. The other half of the dough I put in a plastic bag in the freezer and it defrosts fine either overnight or microwave
Productive afternoon of painting and batch cooking (and batch eating, oh dear!:rotfl:

CrazyLady2009 I know exactly what you mean about feeling the need to spend when things are tough. Then you think "oh stuff it I have blown the budget now anyway, what's another £20". Have been down this road so many times before. And looking after yourself is so important, I have come to make this more of a priority recently.
No heating here, the sun is shining and it's not too cold. Have hung some washing out but I might have wasted my time, I dont actually think its drying much. Roast lamb for tea.
Oh and thanks for comments about the cost of getting DS2 to college. Our cleaner at work (single parent on low income) tried to get help sending her son to the same college and failed so I dont think we will have much chance.
Anyway, need to finish my spreadsheets and work on my budget for Feb. DS2 needs a new coat, I was hoping the one he has would see the winter out but it really is getting a bit short. He has offered to pay half out of his Christmas money but it feels a bit wrong him doing that for something so essential. He is having a look online so we will see what he comes up with.
Ah and pizza dough - I make double the quantity and we eat it. Oh the joys of feeding a 16 yo and an 18 yo. If there does happen to be any pizza left DH likes it cold in his packed lunch.0 -

Sounds silly but I assume it's dk yarn? Just the hook doesn't seem like a 6mm to me - it looks smaller in the pic? EDIT - I see the pattern says 6mm... but wondered if they got muddled? A US size 4 is 3.5mm...
Had a quick mooch on Ravelry and seems like you're not the only one to have had issues with the sheer volume of yarn going into these. Damn being stuck in work. I want to have a go now!!
Thanks CLF! I can see you itching at the bit to get crocheting when you are stuck in work - I know that feeling!
I think the confusing thing is that it's a UK blog but most patterns on Raverly are American, so when she was talking about 'size 4' she meant UK size 4 but most comments didn't seem to know either way. I was using DK - just the craft cotton for dishcloths stuff. Maybe I'll just give it a go with 7 loops or something see if that's easier and then try various different hooks. Just seemed crazy to spend so long trying to work something out that should be so simple and quick and easy!!0 -

I have some dk cotton at home that I normally use for baby booties so I'll have a bash. Luckily my 6mm hook is out at the mo anyway!LBM 11/06/2010: DFD 30/04/2013Total repaid: £10,490.310 -
Hi everyone.
So pleased that I can almost see payday approaching in the distance. I feel as though I might make it.
I too have woken with a fuzzy head today but nothing alcohol related. I suspect it's either tiredness or caffeine withdrawal - both of which I plan to sort out sooner rather than later.
I've done banking and a PAD to the moneybox
Daily housework jobs
Meal planned for the week ahead
Took dd out shopping. Not to £££ for me because it was her plan and her shopping trip
Been to visit my mam for a catch up and a free feed.
I'm home, in my jammies in front of the telly. Feels a bit old and boring, but really good as well. Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

Afternoon all,
I have *finally* uploaded the clothes to ebay :T:T I usually do it on the computer downstairs but did it lying in bed on the iPad this time and found it much less of a bore.
This morning I took a trip to Mr S for more happy pills and picked up a YS butter chicken for DH and I to share for dinner (we already have micro rice here) and some fresh pasta and sauce for the teens. I have my eye on a nice vase and artificial flowers there which is nicer than one I have (for free) which I have never taken the tag off of. I feel an exchange coming on
I was feeling a bit grumpy with everyone this morning so took myself to the Mr S cafe for lunch with just a magazine for company, it cost me a fiver but boy did I enjoy it

Otherwise, we'll need to get rid of our perfectly fine DW () or at a push exchange it (try and sell ours) to get a slimline one and the design still won't be great great as it will mean we will have unusable space in one of the corners...
OH says moving the WM should be a go-er because the wall is near the outdoor tap so all the plumbing will be there/in easy reach.
Ooh, nice! Do you have a tumble drier too? You could go all US/Pinterest and turn it into your laundry room with nicely organised shelves above for baskets/detergents.Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)

Evening/late afternoon all :hello: nice gropping foxgloves it could have been worse
Lovely productive day here:
5k run this morning :A
Did sausage or bacon sandwiches for smalls and DH and I a cooked breakfast as a treat afterwards. All from what we had in.
Made a bns and chilli soup with a 54p bag of ys bns soup mix for lunches this week
Went for a lovely long walk at local beauty spot/open space. Did rain but the smalls had a great time splashing in puddles. Cafe didn't take cards and no cash so no spends :A took a few wraps from home and some biscuits and fruit so the smalls ate them. Came home for hot chocolate.
DH now at gym
Meal from planner for tea - Singapore noddles
Smalls had leftovers from freezer (hm scotch egg, small sausages) and bread sticks and crackers for tea
We've offered to buy some beer for DBIL wedding later this year. Have already a stash saved as I'd banked on helping out some way or another. Must do some research.
Made tomorrow and Tuesdays packed lunch for DD2
Yesterday bought dd1 a lovely winter coat in the sale. Her current second hand one was a fiver and she's been wearing it for 3 years. It will be washed and go away for her sister plenty of wear left. Even better she was bought a winter coat for Christmas but it was too small. When I took it back they gave me a credit note which is fine but we got coat from different shop. Will use the credit note for a present for friends baby tomorrow now as a 'swap'
I can confirm said coat is waterproof :rotfl:
Up to date with washing, drying on airer/radiators when on, although it's not been too cold today
Wore my lenses in the shower today (post run) I know you shouldn't but find it's ok if I'm careful. Well. What an eye opener - literally. Got DH to get a scourer and cleaned dirt of the shower screen that I wouldn't normally see  :rotfl:
Pad to savings
Used a tip from a Jamie O programme I watched recently. Froze some left over whole chilli and grated one for the soup from frozen. Much easier than chopping!
Enjoy your evening.0 -

Hi La E,
I've done my research... so here it is using dk yarn and a 6mm hook
You can see it's quite "gappy" compared to the image
This version is with a 4mm hook
Which looks a bit more like the image.
A magic ring would def close the centre circle better, but I tried making the puff stitches into one and it was really hard. You could make 8dc into the magic ring, and then 1puff st into each dc for stability.
I didn't have trouble getting the stitches into the ch4 ring though. To fit them in, after each one, I pinch the base of the stitch and pull the ring through the stitches as hard as I can to bunch them all up.
Having said this, she doesn't actually specify the yarn weight. Sirdar Simply Recycled comes in dk and Aran. It would make more sense if she'd used Aran that she's using a 6mm hook anyway. Moving forwards, if you're using dk, I would suggest skipping the ch1 between each puff stitch in the first round to keep it tighter.
