So guys you are a survey loving bunch aren't you? Which sites do you do and which ones are worth the time with regards to pay out?
I can't remember who said they were doing the supermarket ones but I did the Boots one once and won...£50 on kids clothes when DD was small. But the woman who ran the department was so excited that someone from her store had won that she put aside all the clothes I wanted until the big reductions in the sale, two weeks later I ended up with £300 worth of clothes which I paid £15 for. Best win of my life!
Hi, I just use iPoll at the moment as an app on my phone. It takes quite some time to build up enough money to cash out because the amounts vary between 25 pence and £1 per survey and you don't always qualify and its finding the time.Competition wins £14,136.30[\COLOR]0 -

Before I forget - I've been meaning to answer someone who asked about Top Cash Back charges the other day, sorry if that was you, I keep forgetting! Same thing happened to me a few weeks ago, and I searched on here, and found that they automatically put everyone on premium membership :eek: There was a notification, but you didn't get it unless you logged in (and I hadn't for two years). I emailed through their website and they just removed it again. Certainly wasn't worth it for me - I've earned 13p cashback through them in the last 2 years so paying £10 of charges wasn't really worth it :rotfl:
Anyway, today...
* Went out for breakfast with Mr Cheery for first time this month - spent £3.05 between us :money: including a snack we brought home to have after lunch
* put breadmaker on for later
* went to DIY shop but couldn't find what we wanted so came home empty handed
* afternoon of DIY planned :j
* home made pizza for tea - base is already made must take out of the freezer)
* popped into a charity shop that had a 'fill a (giant) bag for £5' day, and came out with NOTHING :eek:
* banks/ynab later
* couple of surveys this morning - including one for 100 SB :money: Over half way to next payout there now :j
That's it I think, sure I'll think of something else!
Thanks Cheery Daff, it was me who asked about topcashback. I've sent a support ticket to their customer services. I noticed I have £30 to cash out so I did that whilst I was there. Thanks for responding, LP xCompetition wins £14,136.30[\COLOR]0 -

!
RM Surveys are my favourite. Had £200-worth of stamps and vouchers last year.Debt-free day: 8th May 2015 "Remember that sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck," Dalai Llama0 -
I had the same problem with a run in my last kitchen, it became a mathematical problem to work out how many cupboards at X width and how many at y width I needed to make z. It's usually possible off the peg if you slot in a wine rack or spice drawers or summat but if it's a run of appliances then you're in troubleI
Woop woop, I think we have solved the puzzle! If we move the WM out into the conservatory (which isn't like your traditional conservatory...more like a dumping ground/workshop/garage/"utility space") then we can have an awesome kitchen!Otherwise, we'll need to get rid of our perfectly fine DW (:eek:) or at a push exchange it (try and sell ours) to get a slimline one and the design still won't be great great as it will mean we will have unusable space in one of the corners...
OH says moving the WM should be a go-er because the wall is near the outdoor tap so all the plumbing will be there/in easy reach. :cool:0 -
Not heard of them Ally! I have mixed feelings about surveys and go through phases of doing then abandoning. Doing sw@gbucks at the minute when i remember - got my eye on something i don't really need so aiming to get enough vouchers
LP - good luck with TCB! you may find the amount of your cashback you claimed is reduced a bit - you get a higher % with premium membership so if you're not paying the fee they may take the extra % away...
Grumpy day yesterdaybut planning to be more cheerful and productive today :j
So...
* cheap porridge/water breakfast
* make homemade bread and soup to freeze for work lunches (make enough for today's lunch too)
* meal plan and shopping list - hopefully won't need much this week so may pop to @ldi later
* make snacks for work lunches - not sure i've got enough sugar to bake as ended up making damson jam yesterday :j so may to wait til been shopping (made bread but had run out of jam! Then remembered damsons in freezer)
* paint kitchen ceiling
* banks/ynab
* sw@gbucks survey - not far from next payout
That's it I think... have a good day all :T0 -
morning :-) funny how at the weekend I feel productive even when I've done nothing!
cheery daff hope your mood improves today!
1LL the tooth situation sounds unpleasant! Hope it's not too costly
well yesterday we were couch potatoes so today planning on leaving the house! Not sure where or what yet... I want us to join the hotel pool & sauna I went to last week so trying to reach them to see if madam can come and then we can have a sauna swim play killing several birds with 1 stonewe joined
and I can take madam for free
and they charged me £10 less than they should have done
have done some research into rhythmic breathing to help with running. I'm not actually getting out of breath but my legs feel so tired afterwards. Looks like I am probably repeatedly impacting one side of my body. Going to try out the exercises...
[STRIKE]Will go to the SMs around ys time later[/STRIKE]only need a couple of bits but if I can get them ys :money: be good if I can get a 25p desert like last week
actually not a lot of stuff today but did save £10.66 on the things I got. Have pulled out of the freezer a couple of brownies for desert & madam has a cream egg
[STRIKE]have put a load of washing on & made a pint of powdered milk up[/STRIKE]
roast turkey joint for dinner today and most things from stores but need to get potatoes debating whether to get a tin and roast them to keep costs low or just buy a sack... went for the tin, will report back!
made a batch of giganti plaki which oh & I had for lunch and enough for 2 more lunch portions. Realised when I cooked them they have gone out of date! They are dried so would expect them to have a much longer shelf life! Currently soaking the rest of the bag to cook and freeze. Also the black beans I got at the same time are out of date as well so will soak them over night....
usual bags, lunches & clothes ready for the week ahead...
list things on fleabay - took photos yesterday so that's 1 step closer
Think that's my lot! Happy days guys xDF as at 30/12/16

Morning all
DS and GD1 both here, and I didn't get the pork joint I intended to cook out of the freezer early enough, so dinner will have to be tonight instead of at lunchtime
List for today:
Pancakes made for breakfast - cheap treat for grandchildren (and son!)
Lidls for bits for lunch, as I seem to be expecting a houseful - DD2 and GD4 expected as well Done, spent just over £16, but this included routine stuff such as bread flour, sugar (I have raspberries that keep falling out of the freezer each time I open the door, so will make them into jam!), bananas etc.Of the 'extra' bits I bought, there is plenty left for lunches during the coming week
Dryish washing to go into airing cupboard Done, now need to put wet washing on the airer, it is pouring down here today, so no chance of line drying
Spare duvet to put away Still to do
Ebay parcels to wrap later when DS takes GD1 home and others leave 5 to do:eek:
Large joint of pork to cook later, dinner for at least 2 days plus sandwiches for lunchesOH is on the case :T
Must find apple sauce in freezer! Done
Will serve 'hog roast rolls' (bit of pork, crackling and apple sauce in a bap) instead of a big roast dinner, as I made pizza dough in the BM again to use up rest of bits from last night, so we had pizza slices with what turned out to be a very substantial lunch. Loving the BM pizza dough programme. Fed 6 of us last night on pizza, Lidls jacket potato wedges and HM coleslaw. Very cheap as I used mostly bits from the fridge and freezer to top the pizzasFussy kids / vegetarians and everyone can choose what toppings they want from the selection available . why haven't I done this before?
That will do to start with....0 -
Morning fellow money savers!
Tried to catch up on the thread last night, but crashed out at 6.30pm till 7.30am this morning after my night away. It was fantastic catching up with people while away, no money spent on the train on the way there:T or at the event (tried to buy drinks but wasn't allowed and there were free cocktails at the beginning of the night:beer:) To get a lift home (which saved me £80), myself and daughter had to be up major early so only 3 hours sleep had on Friday night:eek: Only spent monies when we had a stop off on the way back and bought my friend who was driving his food aswell, the least I could do, out of budgeted spends.
Feel so better for sleep but boy did it hurt getting up this morning. My spinal damage means that I can't turn in bed without my hand rail, so I don't know how long I was crashed out in the same position. Once I got moving thru the pain, had my first cuppa, then all was right.
Interesting what u say about the education grants. My daughter still gets the education maintenance grant. We live in Wales and I don't know if Wales plan to continue with the EMA as my daughter is off to uni, but so many kids locally rely on this money for travel costs, esp as some of the colleges are not close at all.
Have a weekend away in a couple of weeks coming up and then head back down to full money saving. a cracking 2 night Black Friday deal at a posh hotel, so really looking forward to that with friends. Only spends will be food and petrol.
Off to get ready, family over at my mums all for Sunday lunch. I'm supplying dessert which I picked up half price in Mr T's-they're getting rid of all of their Christmas buffet items and puds, so feeling happy on how money saving is going at the minute.
Have a great day everyone:TDecluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Morning everyone! Just a quick check in as the week has flown by. We have been buffeted by tragedy hitting all around the edges of us, not directly us, but lots of people we care for having a horrific time one way or the other this last few weeks. Its been a tad overwhelming and all normal routine, in as much as we ever had one, gone to pot.
On a financial front, I think things could easily have unravelled more than they have. When life is very difficult is tempting to take shorter cuts / feel the need for 'nicer' stuff / easier experiences or just relax all sensible spending when there are unexpected expenses/trips. I don't think we have quite done that. Damage is pretty limited to some extra meals at work (£7-8) when ended up there late into the night; overpriced painkillers for banging headaches that came on when only service stations / train stations were nearby; and a delay in sorting out some financial review tasks that were on the hit list for months anyway, another week is not ideal but not beating myself up about it.
So, really good to celebrate with you the little things that have stayed on track!
Had to pull out of some social activity which would have incurred spend. Instead we've mainly been drinking tea at home/with family or friends. Went to book club; took xmas chocolate rather than buy a gift. Managed to re-gift a signed book and chocolates from xmas as a colleagues birthday gift. Used amazon xmas vouchers so I could download some kindle books. Am re-reading some older ones too. Was passed a few books by friends that look good. I need to re-join and begin using library more.
Kept performing high at work. This was critical in the longer game as there has been a long battle to get the job I'm now doing regraded. Had time with the CEO this week and he gave me the ok to process the regrading paperwork at last. Have reason to be confident it will go through - lots of examples of very parallel activity (er, by white, men) paid more than what I'm doing at the moment. Not such a little thing as the difference is very significant to me - in the multiple hundreds per month. Just need to process it asap as only backpays by 3 months.
All meals from stores. We ate less than usual due to the trauma I think, but I was grateful for some easy from the freezer meals. DDs been laughing at my use of mini casseroles dishes shoved in the oven alongside whatever is heating in there - I do small veg (eg sweetcorn)/baked beans that I would normally boil on the hob in these. Not sure of the science of "boiling" on hob vs "immersing in hot water in a hot oven" but it seems to work ok!
DD out for a few meals with friends so that helped. She took remainder of xmas chocs/biscuits/crisps with her as a contribution to her movie nightWe still have a large stash of xmas cheese in the freezer
I learnt to poach an egg. You can all get up from the floor laughing now. This was not a skill I had before but as I am 'growing into' eating eggs in my 30's, this turned eggs from 'something that goes in cakes' into 'lunch / quick dinner staple'. Google helped and it took all of three minutes
Have already turned around the bnb room ready for next guests. Trying to get and stay ahead so can still say yes for bookings even though we are a bit up in the air here at the moment. Have just reviewed price tips and dropped prices for next 2 weeks as I now know we will be here.
Am putting expenses in very promptly for business travel last few weeks. This is also something I usually let mount up but am trying to improve as it causes me plenty of stress!
Heatings been largely off. Hot water bottles rule, apart from when we have guests or are in shock! Then we go big on snuggily, with the help of blankets!
Three people have warned me in different ways about looking after my health this week. I think they mean stress, working too much, and weight which is creeping up. About 2 sizes above my standard adult clothes size at the moment - I dont have any scales. Am trying hard with 1 and 2 already, looking at sleep, active relaxation, and been for a couple of massages recently as I find them really beneficial (but not very DFW!). I do need to be more proactive about my weight and up my exercise activity. Need some impetus here. Have previously had a personal trainer and am contemplating same again, to kickstart a new habit. Not many friends nearby who are in a position to buddy up and help me commit.
Have moved cash to the cc debt as soon as payday occurred.
Happy sunday folks.0
