Morning Frugalistas,
Just done Big Garden Bird Watch so that was free entertainment. Today's MSE efforts will be:
*Use stored homegrown apples to make apple sauce.
*Load washer & set timer for cheap overnight laundry.
*Make tomorrow's packed lunch.
*Pack new heater for return. It is apparently impossible for any company involved in the supply chain of these to send us with 1 replacement leg. I knew it would be a saga. Last time I ever use tv shopping. Not enough transparency regarding manufacturers.
*Sort seed box & chat to mr f about what food we want to grow this year.
*Pop down to shed & check for l/o seed compost.
*Withdraw cash to pay final Savings Piggy.
*Knit current order as I obviously shan"t see the cash till it's finished.
*Two baths from 1 lot of hot water.
*Cut hand cream tube open to get probably another week of use.
*Write job list for the week ahead, as there are lots of things I really want to progress this week.
Back tomorrow when I hope to feel massively motivated.

Oh....meant to chip in on subject of surveys. I do Ugov, Onepoll, Toluna & Ipsos. I do nearly all the Ugovs & Ipsos that are sent to me. The others I do depending on my time & mood. My survey income for the last couple of years is logged in my signature. The vouchers are certainly useful but on a purely money saving basis, setting a morning aside for a really well-planned batch-cooking session is likely to save you more money thsn you would typically earn on a morning of surveys. So my overall thoughts on them is that they provide a bit of very useful extra cash but they're not the goose that laid the golden egg.

Think that's it for me, LP xCompetition wins £14,136.30[\COLOR]0 -
Yay, sold my ginormous dining table that I never really wanted for £300! :T
Let's hope it all goes well and the buyer actually comes to collect it... (cynical ebay seller, me...)

6mm crochet hook (size 4 UK) and 8 puff stitches (up to 11 loops of yarn on the hook) into a ch4 space?! I have seriously tried it 10 times and can't get it to work... Tried a magic circle too and still can't get it to fit...
Hi La E - I'l have a go at it this evening... I think that a magic ring could certainly be easier than the ch4 sp. I don't think that I've ever made such a big puff stitch! They are certainly beasts!
Sounds silly but I assume it's dk yarn? Just the hook doesn't seem like a 6mm to me - it looks smaller in the pic? EDIT - I see the pattern says 6mm... but wondered if they got muddled? A US size 4 is 3.5mm...
Had a quick mooch on Ravelry and seems like you're not the only one to have had issues with the sheer volume of yarn going into these. Damn being stuck in work. I want to have a go now!!LBM 11/06/2010: DFD 30/04/2013Total repaid: £10,490.310 -
Experimenting with pizza dough in my bread maker - DS has GD1 here this weekend, and I thought she would like the idea of building her own pizza for dinner
I have taken tomato sauce, ratatouille, oddments of ham, roasted courgettes from freezer and will take salami, cheese, peppers etc from fridge. Will do potato wedges and salad to go with the pizzas, assuming they work ok
Dawn - I often make pizza dough in the bm. I find that if I wrap it up in clingfilm, it freezes and defrost well too. I've even defrosted it in the microwave successfully before.LBM 11/06/2010: DFD 30/04/2013Total repaid: £10,490.310 -

About 2 sizes above my standard adult clothes size at the moment - I dont have any scales. Am trying hard with 1 and 2 already, looking at sleep, active relaxation, and been for a couple of massages recently as I find them really beneficial (but not very DFW!). I do need to be more proactive about my weight and up my exercise activity. Need some impetus here. Have previously had a personal trainer and am contemplating same again, to kickstart a new habit. Not many friends nearby who are in a position to buddy up and help me commit.
I can really recommend the Fitness Blender workouts - you can find them on YouTube. there are loads for free and they come in all different types - length of time, area of body, strength, cardio, HIIT. There are also some great stretching routines that a great for relaxing.

Afternoon all!
Foxgloves - excellent work on the groping thereI've done that before - grabbed a person's upper thigh and gave it a good squeeze, only to discover that it wasn't my OH! Luckily it was a friend though
Also, did I remember you posting about learning more crochet stitches? This may sound silly, but I always imagine the more complicated stitches just as combinations of simple ones IYSWIM? I just like to think that all of the crochet is broken down into:
"How many times do I wrap the yarn round the hook"
"Where do I stick the hook"
"How many times do I repeat this"
It's just easier in my head to think of combinations of chains and simple stitches, rather than puff stitch, popcorn stitch, picot etc.
Bit muzzy here. Evening was a bit more spendy than expected (hence the muzzy head!) but was wonderful to see my friend. She's had a very hard time recently and I just wanted to wrap her up in cotton wool and take her away somewhere safe! So sad to hear her songs sometimes when you know what's going on!
OH and I had breakfast/brunch out before he took me to work. Was very much needed!!
So today:- Dinner from stores. Not sure what though. Need to come up with something soon!
- Work half day
- Big budget day with OH. Reconcile the end of last month and plan this month's budget.
- Work on the big meal plan
- Crochet (and test La E's pattern)
- No drinkies and early night!
- Heating on minimal where possible
- Charge phone in work
Have a good one all

Hello Saturday Savers,
*Did not buy Whitesnake CD boxset, despite going back to look at it 3 times. (Oh dear,& then while still in HMV, I accidentally groped a complete stranger's bum. He didn't appear to be remotely embarrassed....or.... thankfully, think that I was coming on to him. And mr f, who was on the other side of the shop at the time, thought it was amusing. Typical!!)carrielovesfanta wrote: »Afternoon all!
