Morning all. Hugs/get well vibes etc to whoever needs them esp Mumof2.

    Welcome newbies.

Today I have walked the dogs (black ice, so pretty scary with bad ankle) and dusted the dusty bits in the LR.

    Have a great day everyone.

I suggest you just supervise tomorrow LW :)
I think you're right; we need to make a Shepherd Spy for tonight's and tomorrow's dins, but Mr LW can help with that.

And I've done the other "must-do" task today, which was set up a "meet'n'greet" visit for a prospective new canine guest - she's visiting with her human tomorrow afternoon. :o

Thanks Lynne; I've bookmarked it, and as luck would have it, I have several of the suggested remedies to hand. :o

    HHC anyone?

I've had a student cancel today so I'm determined to make the most of it; the kitchen didn't get much yesterday so I'm going to catch up.

So far I've been to zumba
done 1 load washing and hung it out
filled bird feeders (think I spend more on them than on us)
    caught up with immediate emails.

I did a meal plan last week, it's been brilliant not having to think about what we are eating. And doing even the basic list flying my house is beginning to look better. In turn that's making me feel happier.
I have chicken ,ham and leeks in my slow cooker which is going to turn into two pies. and have had to make a lasagne and shepherds spy as the mince is on today's date, and there was a bit of red wine left from Sunday (how did that happen?!).So my kitchen smells delicious. And a plus is I have four meals at the ready.
I really have to tackle the oven this afternoon ! Xx

Loudmouth have you got some sort of kneeling pad or cushion you can put on the floor, to take at least some of the pressure off your poor knees when you do the oven? I'd bring in one of the garden kneelers to use if that was me doing it.:o

Over the years I've acquired three kneelers from Wil*o or Morribunds and keep one at the chalet for when I have to get down on my hands and knees over there, one by the cooker for when I need to delve into it to clean it, or dig stuff out of the back of low cupboards and one by the shower room for when I have to get down to scrub that, too. 99ps worth of knee-saving comfort each time. I can't be traipsing all over the place to find one when I need it.

So glad you've been to the GP, Mumof2, and that your OH knows how much stress you've been absorbing. I hope things perk up for you really, really soon. (((Hugs)))

    Fingers crossed for you Kaz.

    Healing vibes for Ionafan's shoulder.

*Things going well vibes* for Mrs MP's DS.

OH is on a sickie. OH never, ever gets sick and if I had enough rope I'd tie him into the bed because he really is unwell. I've dosed him up and Devil Cat's keeping him company. As a result I've only just had breakfast, so I'll tackle something on the listy but it won't be the bedroom because he needs some sleep. He hardly got any last night because, typical bloke, he didn't think he needed the Night Nurse I gave him. Tw*t.
    Better is good enough.

As is customary for the birthday week, I am decorating cake. I'm actually almost done! I've made the controller (fondant icing) and put the buttons on that today, and I've made the oblong cake into the games console. I still have 2 buttons that I need to do - the light up ones - in a brighter colour. And pop the writing on top.

So, granny took the football shirt to have lettering put on, and they have messed it up :eek::eek: oh dear. Man in shop feels awful, granny feels awful, DS may not even notice. Shop are trying to replace the shirt (at their expense) and redo the lettering. Granny is flapping in case there is no present ready to unwrap on Friday. Yikes! I've kept the wrong one, just in case. Am sure it will be alright in the end...

Flying-wise I finished off the kitchen this morning although it is now a cake-station...

Think I'll spend a hh putting things away - before anything else untoward happens :rotfl:

Well it took over an hour instead of HHC but I'm pretty impressed with my efforts:
Marvellous Monday Kitchen Klean Up (and dining room)

[STRIKE]mats[/STRIKE] Different mat but my in-front-of-range mat is now soaking in hot soapy water
    [STRIKE]Clear sides and wipe down[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Clean all filters - dishwasher, washer, tumble dryer[/STRIKE] Didn't do filters but wiped down DW, fridge and WM as well as kettle, toaster and slow cooker
    [STRIKE]Wipe sticky switches and sockets with a just-damp cloth[/STRIKE]

    Level 2
    [STRIKE]Clean drawer and door fronts[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Sweep/[/STRIKE]mop/vacuum [STRIKE]floors[/STRIKE]swept; would like to mop but time is ticking on and I have other work to do

    Level 3
    Polish all the windows
[STRIKE]Clear and clean sills[/STRIKE] did 1 sill, will do other another time; only has plants on it not clutter

    Extras
    HHI
[STRIKE]If you've got piles have 15 minutes working through one of them - and be ruthless![/STRIKE] Loads of clutter sorted off work tops
[STRIKE]compost bin emptied and soaking in bleach[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]pile of recyclables on work top put in their respective bins in garage.[/STRIKE]

Guess it must be lunch time now.

    Afternoon all
Paid stuff done, Dh home for lunch and returned to work.
Had a loooog phone call with stepmum, now got to brace myself to make a call to sis, I'm not looking forward to it as I'm to be the bearer of difficult medical news.
Going to have a coffee for Dutch courage then make a lasagne for tea now and do ds1 early tea first as I think I'll just feel like a glass of wine and hiding in my crossstitch or a book after I've made the call.

Pressie fixing vibes for bossy and the shirt printing Shop, heartburn reducing vibes for lw.
