  • Oooh me too, may I join? Am a long time 'reader' just don't post much.

Managed to clean my surfaces today, cleaned the kitchen window and sill, wiped out one cupboard, de-cobwebbed and steamed the floor

Ticked off pretty much all of the rest of my list bar one item so happy with that.
  • Hi Mwm and Fairy3 welcome to the fold.

Well, 30 minutes done in the kitchen at silly o'clock. All worktops properly cleaned and every available surface wiped down. Kettle and microwaved cleaned. Bathroom swished. On to paid stuff no. 1. Called at the shops for some essentials and home to crack on with paid stuff no. 2. Parents called with some paperwork, sorted them out, made pizza and oven wedges, took DS1 to work.

I am supposed to still be working but waiting for something to download so just sneaking on here for a few minutes. Must try and do kitchen floor before bed.

Dizzy I was waiting in the car for DS1 to finish footie training the other night. I was amazed at the parents driving their kids (16 year olds) as close to the entrance to the astroturf pitch as possible then having to do a very tight 3 point turn or reverse back out again. What's all that about? The kids were going to play sport for heavens sake ... could they not walk across the car park???

    Right, work to do.

.How on earth have we collected about 25 bottles of whisky, 3 mead, 4 port, 2 Malibu, 2 Baileys, 2 rum, etc etc, when DH hasn't had a drink for almost a year and I hardly ever touch the stuff? - I just use a few tablespoons of Drambuie for my special cakes and slosh a bit of brandy in the Christmas puds! I don't see the point of keeping it all. Do charities still raffle alcohol?.

The nursing home where my mother was down here did 8 years ago! Actually, they auctioned them off at a fundraiser and people paid silly prices, so I'd check with a local charity you support, and ask them to let you know how much they raise - you should be very, very pleasantly surprised. I hope so.

    Long drive tomorrow

Everything here crossed for you for tomorrow's phone call, and safe journey tomorrow.

I have organised an oven cleaning company to do my oven on Thursday, he quoted me £28, I thought not bad, then he says, do you want the hob doing? Ermmm yes, I thought an oven clean was just that cleaning the entire oven. So another £12 on top of that. He then asks if it's glass door and top and what about the grill ? Oh god, I wish I had not bothered. I have a feeling the don't do the out sides as well. Is it me being thick?

No, you're not being thick, but an oven is an oven and a cooker is a cooker. I suspect most people have been caught out by the confusion over the terminology. Lots of people now have a seperate built in oven (we've got an electric one) with a built in gas hob, so they would classed as seperate, and if we had a grill on it's own as my mother had, that wouldn't be included. It's great that you found someone who isn't going to charge for something some customers don't have. Personally, I was too embarrased by the state of our oven, which was entirely down to me roasting ducks in it for year and never, ever cleaning it. I bought a bottle of Oven Mate from a friend who did Kleeneze to support her and forgot about it for years, thought I'd give it a try and wow! So I do ours now, following the instructions to the letter. Lakeland also supplies it and I wouldn't be without it. Evil chemicals notwithstanding, it was the only thing that worked and I'd tried pretty much everything else.

    Welcome MWM and Fairy3!

2nd load pegged out. It's blinking freezing here, so it'll be drier in the morning than it is now.
    Better is good enough.

LAmewolf can you tell whichever mischief maker has gone of with DH's car keys that we need them Back NOW. Its is only key and I have to work tomorrow so I can't get him to work and back. Any other time of year I could be flexible but just NOT NOW.

    :eek::mad: Seriously stressed.

So I had a really really bad weekend. To cut a long story short back to GP this morning and managed to explain what's going on without bursting into tears. She said that I'm under an awful lot of pressure and has put me onto some sedatives to take the edge off my anxiety. Thank goodness! Been hard to type as head full of stuff and my hands have been shaking with the sheer amount of adrenaline coursing through me!

Apart from that done some paid stuff, run WM and DW and seen a friend. GP says I'm not to go looking at new jobs etc; just try to relax and make sure I get some me time too. Really going to do my best to follow her advice as think I'm on the verge of making myself really ill.

Apart from that though hope all OK. I did read through but confuddled head not taken anything in ..... sorry. Hi to newbies!

Arghhhh! FBO. I'm feeling your stress from here. Hope they have turned up.
Whoops -sorry- forgot my manners! Thank you Valli for the list. Slightly disappointed not to be doing a turn in my scullery maid outfit but I'm sure Mrs Beaton's turn will come! Oh and yes please, I'm in again!
    Fingers crossed Kaz for tomorrow.
Managed to S&S the bathroom very quickly before going to work. WM run this evening and reloaded for tomorrow. Dinner cooked, eaten and cleared away, recycling out for the morning. Picked a few easy ticks from the list so the floor is swept, table wiped (seem to have forgotten the legs ;)), and the light switches wiped. Not too bad for me on a Monday!

Wow. The power of MSE. Don't know how you managed it. We started looking at 0530, I looked for about an hour during the day, and we spent another 1/2 hr this evening. I just looked - somewhere that had already been 'searched' apparently. Yahooooooo:D

Will still need a new car in a couple of weeks but DH doesn't have to take time off from studying to go and find a more expensive one quickly now.

Mumof2 Have you told DH all this, and pointed out a possible solution!. Take care of yourself as ordered.
