Well spotted. Advert even sounds right. Can't see it'd attract 400 calls in 300 days, let alone 3.0 -
issue i have is with time wasters
problem is most people have nothing to say but ask for final price
not sure may just bite the bullet and trade it in
i understand it may be hard to sell if not allowing anyone to drive but by the same token hard to allow anyone to drive if i will be responsible for it0 -

It has mot but not tax and insurance. Now when one comes to buy it they want to test drive it but problem is car is not insured
What would you do?
If i let them test drive by me sitting next to them what happens if police catches us?
I am the owner but he or she is the driver0 -
Put the price up and then offer a discount0

i have received over 400 calls in past 3 days mostly from people with broken english and this is how it starts
hi mate, any problem with engine or gearbox , me saying no
ok what is your best price. me what is on auto trader is my lowest
then other side i give you x amount which is £500 less than what I am asking for
now my car is cheapest in auto trader within 60 miles radius but fed up with so many calls from people with broken english that want to grab a bargainstranger12 wrote: »it is a saloon bmw and 3k
And you're surprised you're getting deluged with chancers and half-wits? Seriously...?0 -
Unfortunately that is only one of the problems that comes with advertising a car for sale privately.

Exactly the system now ties you in knots in this situation.
Most buyers who are older and already have their own car and insurance are allowed to drive other cars with the owner's permission that are already insured by the owner. It is reasonable for a buyer to expect to have a test drive without handing any money over.
Last time I bought a car the seller just handed me the keys and said 'take it for a spin'; he didn't even come with me.
End of the day you either take a chance or you don't sell it; but make sure you see the prospective purchaser's insurance cert. covers driving of other cars.0 -

It just won't help him if they damage it and are at fault.0
