Not sure of the point of your post, it's well versed in the media sources, I'd say most visitors here are allergic to new cars in any case, so it won't affect them for another 3-6 years time.

I suspect it's just an 'I'm not really a spammer' type of post, to hide the fact that most of the OP's posts are advertisements for car-buying services...
  • Large engined or luxury cars going to make excellent used buys after 5 years, which is a reversal of now, but 5 years is a long way off and more than enough time to shift the goal posts.

After 5 years the excess charge reverts back to normal anyway?

Our A45 would be hit with the £500 a year tax because of its price, but we ordered it in Aug and it arrived in Oct.

It wouldnt have been a deal breaker anyway as its replaced a Nissan 370Z which had £500+ a year tax based on its CO output.

Our other two cars are 13 years old so not such a concern :)

When the bands changed in 2006 it was deal breaker for my colleague as the Lexus IS250 after 23rd march were in a higher bracket.

How on earth can it shock us...?

There have been several threads on this already since it was first announced in 2015, so any potential for shock value is long gone!

Given your post simply contains nothing more than the well known VED changes and you frequently link to a certain car site, you do come across as very spammy - it took about ten seconds to find existing threads on VED changes which have been well discussed here and other places:

Indeed. I was looking at Muranos recently with a view to buy and it made a lot more sense to buy an early 06 one than a 2007 one, just from the tax perspective.
