I'm so sorry to hear of your loss GeeBee. Of course she knew how much she was loved. You both wouldn't have been so close if she didn't feel that. Cats know who to trust.
You did the right thing for her, not letting her suffer. I know it's of little comfort now but someday it will be.
Sending you hugs xx.0 -
I lost one of my little girls 2 weeks ago very suddenly so I know how you are feeling right now.
They know how much we love them and what they mean to us. They try and show us in their own little ways just by being with us.
So sorry for your loss Faith, i feel your pain
Thank you for your kind words0 -

I lost my big boy yesterday with cancer. He was nearly 18 and had a long happy life, but went down hill very quickly. I knew it was the right thing to do for him, set him free from pain.
They will always be with you in memory and happier times. They were loved and cared for.
So very sad to read this Donna, sorry for your loss too0 -

We lost Grumpy Old Ginge on Sunday- one of two very special !!!!! cats who belonged to my exBIL before he died( he was a grumpy old git too but one of his saving graces was that he was an animal lover!)
I bought Ginge and his 9 companions, 2 stupid little recycled cardboard cat scratchers with some catnip (£1.29 each in Home Bargains) for Christmas and he commandeered one the moment he saw it. I've got the most delightful short (but badly lit) video of him rolling around like a baby on it!
My SIl deserves a medal for all the cats she's rescued in the 30 years I've known her - every single one of them needed a good and loving home, and they thrived under her care.
I have never known so many cats to live under one roof with no problems - my 3 are bu$$ers in comparison! One, from down the street, actually chose to come and live with her despite there already being 7 in residence!!
I recently relocated and my biggest priority was somewhere safe for my cats - quiet, small enclosed garden, sympathetic LL, no big dogs . . . I'm paying well over the odds but it's just like having children . . I can totally understand how devastated you feel xx
Thank you for sharing your story with me, it's very comforting to read, with people that understand my pain, so very sorry you lost Grumpy Old Ginge, i know how you feel0 -
I'm so sorry to hear your sad news.
I am certain your cat would of known how much she was loved. I know its horrible but at least you were there with her in her final moments and she went peacefully and the fact she had 12 wonderful years with a caring owner.
Once again I am truly sorry to hear of your loss.
Thank you for your lovely kind words, they mean a lot0 -

Tonight, don't cry because she's gone.
Smile because she lived and she shared that life with you.
Thank you, you're right, i'll try0 -

I am so sorry to hear this, but at least she is at peace now, and if she was having organ failure, she is likely to have been in some degree of pain, so at least she will be pain free now.
I am fortunate that I have never had to experience this (yet), however, my cat (who now lives with my ex) is getting old (she's about 16), so only time will tell. (I am still good friends with my ex, and get to see the cat regularly - we joke that I have visiting rights!)
I can only imagine what you are going through, and it can't be easy. I hear this type of story regularly - I have a huge cat lover - so much so that I volunteer weekly with Cats Protection, so hear what people have been through with their own furr-babies.
It will get easier, and as I said - she is now pain free!0 -
Thank you for all your lovely comments, sorry i am not very chatty in my comments, i am just so numb0
