    EE

They are for the lower end of the packages.

Have you seen how much they charge for 250Mb sim only ?

For less you can get 500Mb or more elsewhere.

So? It doesn't make all their sim only expensive, which was your comment.

Their PAYG is 40p a minute (maybe more!)

You don't pay PAYG rates on any contract, so completely irrelevant.

    touchy !

Is doesn't make all their packages value for money either.

    Not everyone wants 12Gb.

Others have mentioned PAYG in this thread

    Me? Not at all ;)

But it does make the blanket comment "EE are expensive" wrong.
    Not everyone wants 12Gb.

But many do, and it's likely to be more data for less money than the OPs current package
Others have mentioned PAYG in this thread

Only one person who either didn't read or comprehend that the OP is discussing contracts.

Considering their packages start at £9.99 (250Mb) where as others start at £5 (for 500Mb) I think it's a valid statement.

Nearly double the price for half as much !!!

Although perhaps not available for new customers (which the OP isn't), my 12 month £4.99 EE contract gives 500Mb.

On the specific tariff you choose to highlight, as opposed to comparisons against many of the tariffs.

You're also discounting the fact that EE is a far superior network and with the rollout of the ESN is going to move even further ahead of the others, even an MVNO on EE doesn't offer all the features a contract user on EE benefits from.

If anything, I wold be more concerned that a network still offers a plan with such a meagre allowance...

I was comparing it to others which use the EE network. I wanted a reasonable comparison.

This is Mse after all so price is important. Personally I hate paying communication companies a penny more than I need to.

I looked into joining EE last year and even with a 20% discount were still expensive

And you are correct. Why on earth are EE offering a meagre 250mb package. Who wants that these days?
Why? Because otherwise their packages would start at £12.99

And this is for a 12 month contract! Where as others are 30 days.

So how did you compare like for like? Most EE MVNO's don't even offer 4G and the ones that do don't offer any of the additional features and also have speed capping.

Would you use the same argument that a cheap car from India like the Tata Nano will do because it's much cheaper than a Vauxhall Corsa?

Maybe Martin should stop recommending car hire deals, it's always cheaper to use a bus...

Price is only important when you are comparing identical things.

There were plenty of cheap deals with EE last year, I can remember the £12 4GB offer, the £18 for 16GB offer and the £20 20GB offer.

About 2 months ago EE finally opened up 4G to their mvos

    Eg Virgin and plusnet. BT

    The prices quoted are 4g.

Yes they maybe limited to 25mbps but there can't be much of the country where u will notice!

    But I like paying £5-6 a month!
