I think I fancy a slice of "family sized pie" with mash and cabbage and gravy.

I think that's it .... now I need to find the oomph to go and get all those items....

Afternoon everyone - late on parade today, weather is cold and wet so I've been cosied up with my kindle :)
PN - you should try a splah of balsamic in your beans it's lovely :) Know what you mean about ready meals as I said I not a fan especially of the curries though don't mind the Tesco cottage pie and lasagne ones at a push
NewShadow - I've never had a goblin pudding but have less than fond memories of their tinned hamburgers in gravy. They seemed to appear with monotonous regularity at Girl Guide camps
Karcher - sorry you had bad news and a lousy day yesterday, hope you are giving yourself some tlc/me time. I'm like you like my chips crispy but don't mind a bit of gravy/sauce on them as long as they aren't completely covered so there is still some crunch:D
LW - yes the basket is lovely almost too pretty to eat :)
moneystooshorttomention - yes definitely got a dehydrator on my wish list hoping it doesn't put a hex on getting a garden surplus if I get one though;)
Farway - thanks for the feedback re the Lidl pie handy to know. I wouldn't worry about your steamer afterall it's getting sterilised everytime you use it :D
Meg72- my son was in Morrison's early and said the chilled veg section was nearly empty not sure if was lack of stock or folk over-buying always hard to tell with our local one which at best can be hit or miss re stocks

Had a lovely brunch of toast, lorne sausage and HP sauce, terribly unhealthy but oh so nice :D Not sure if I am cooking for one or not as son unsure if he is in or out. I had planned a steak dinner but didn't bother defrosting them so probably will have chicken thighs. I'm kind of hoping if son is about that he'll cook dinner and I can "supervise" with a glass of wine in hand:)

OMG I made the right choice! That was gorgeous.

Pack says cook pie 35 minutes, but when you're using a mini oven and it's just 1/3rd then 20 minutes is plenty.

Changed my mind a bit though: no cabbages in L1d1 .... so I thought I'd use some of my frozen sprouts instead. Then went off the idea of buying a huge bag of spuds so soon after the last one ... so I thought I'd use instant mash. Got home, opened the fridge and realised I had half a can of beans there... so it ended up as:

Mince/onion pie, mash, baked beans, bisto.

Nom .... nom .... bloody nom... Fabulous....
I love pies .... but you really can't eat them every day :(

I much prefer a big slice of family sized pie, to an individual one, as you get more filling. I LOVE pastry, but, so often, individual pies have barely any insides at all....

Two more slices of pie are in the fridge :) Pack is Use By 14 Feb, so there's no rush ... but as it's open and in the fridge I'll no doubt have pie for the next two days too.

I also picked up some mini cheesecakes... so a cheeky cheesecake in a bit.

Well this thread is a bad influence ......:D
Son ended up going out with his mates and was going to the SM to pick up some beers.I asked him to get me a chicken pie and being a good MSE son he picked up 2 wee ones RTC, so pie. LO roasties from NY, camelised shallots LO from Christmas and mushrooms have been "cooked". Was bleeding good despite the pie being a tad "style over substance". T'other one is in the freezer for the next time the notion strikes must do better in the fruit and veg consumption tomorrow :D

After eating such a regular/large meal .... I promptly nodded off. Now awake but very disorientated and groggy :)

In the shop I had grand ideas of a sausagemeat pie, mash, veggies - by the time I got to the car I didn't fancy that any more.

    I can trump that PN

I had pizza on the menu last night. Cut up extra mushrooms, onions and tomatoes and duly added to the top of the pizza. Placed pizza straight onto the shelf in the oven ready to cook when I fancied it.....trouble is, I didn't.....so the uncooked pizza with extra toppings is still there on the shelf in the oven...:o

Not quite sure what to do with it now tbh :(

Yes, that wins. All veggies, so turn the oven on, cook it ... and shove it cold in the fridge for later.

I'd just bung it the fridge until you fancy it - if your kitchen is anything like mine is it the oven would be nearly as cold as the fridge so veg & cheese unlikely to go off.:D Or pizza for breakfast? :)

Not sure about food plans here today probably brunch of scrambled eggs with mushrooms and baby tomatatoes. Might make a chorizio & chickpea stew later for during the week and possibly look out a gammon steak for tonight. Have really fallen off the meal plan last week and intend to be fairly fluid this coming week as at hospital twice this week and wont know what or if I'll be up to making afterwards. Need to chop up peppers and mushrooms for the freezer though thinking of leaving some of the mushrooms whole.... too many decisions LOL for this time on a Sunday morning:) need some more :coffee:

My oven is completed sealed and the room is cold so in the end I just wrapped it in foil to cook later.

Didn't want to cook it now as i would have just eaten it all and whilst I'm happy to have the last slice of leftover pizza cold for breakfast..cooking and eating the whole thing for breakfast is a step too far ..

Much rather cook and eat it later...But I am actually really hungry  Probably because I didn't have any dinner last night :rotfl:

    I'm rambling now!!!!......:p:rotfl: *gets coat*:o
