Nelski - thankfully I've managed to inadvertently defrost bait but it's been close at times. :eek:Thanks for the good wishes. Have you worked out what your freezer surprise is it?.
Annoyingly it is bubble and squeak again but quite an old looking one I will be starting to look like a sprout at this rate0 -
Karcher was the MaccyDs at Woolwich by any chance as thats where the first one was opened

My father drove the family there from the other side of London..back in the day when you could actually drive in London and not just sit for hours in a traffic jam!

I've just googled to find out what a grapefruit knife is .... it's not very exciting is it.0

Mine were served the same way, which maybe one reason I never eat them now, always found them bitter and not much different to a lemon for sharpnessIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0

No, especially when you don't eat/like grapefruit
But in my eyes it's a bit like having a fish/steak knife!
So long as a knife cuts your food who cares :D'I'm sinking in the quicksand of my thought

At the risk of being labelled officially weird, I always have a slice of lemon in a cup of tea in preference to milk; and I always eat the lemon after I've drunk the tea.
I'm not sure if this is officially weird but I have the most delightful feeling that it is officially posh.
Oooooh! LameWolf who'd a thunk it?

Admits to having a grapefruit knife! - and wouldnt be surprised if I'd bought it back in the 1970s.
It does come in handy for the "once in a blue moon" I fancy a grapefruit (much easier for my spoon to get the bits out after I've sectioned around them all).
In mitigation your honour I enter a plea that I have several very 21st century kitchen gadgets too. Spiraliser, dehydrator and Vitamix blender - all of which frequently get used:)0 -

Had a lovely surprise this morning when I received a fruit basket from an old friend. It's lovely and although fairly substantial not too much for a solo household. I mentioned in an earlier post that I don't do so well in the fruit department during the winter so this is just the kick start I need. Her OH is a fruit & veg merchant so it's lovely quality and a good mix of ripe and ready to eat to needing a few days. Will no doubt need to freeze the pineapple but that's not a problem. Started as mean to go on with a lovely lunch of oatcakes with brie, some grapes and beautifully ripe and juicy pear
I have rather a lot of mushrooms as Tesco were very generous with the sub when they didn't have the loose ones I ordered - they'll be fine for a bit but might make mushroom soup on Sunday for lunches next week.
Not sure if I'm cooking for one or two tonight as son is heading home but depending on when can get away from work it might be really late before he's here. Either way it's a reheat job of lasagne and garlic bread from the freezer.0
