Just got a wee surprise with my on-line delivery from Tesco -a Burns Night box comprising of 454g haggis, a 3 pack of mixed peppers. a very large red pepper and 100g Orkney Cheese so a decent freebie. with a recipe for Haggis Stuffed pepper.
Of course now the conundrum of cooking for one - I'll use some of the Haggis tomorrow night and freeze the rest, the cheese will keep until I use it but now have rather a lot of peppers to contend with and not much freezer space left. Will be taking some stuff out tomorrow in prep for friends coming on Friday so no doubt I'll manage to squeeze in some bags of chops peppers or I might stew them with some tomato onion and garlic and freeze that way. Thankfully they have decent use by dates so need to make a quick decision:eek:

That "dinner tonight" thread always makes me think of food - and, having posted something, I then go off and eat it as I then fancy it...

I therefore had soup/roll earlier .... and it's now getting dark/freezing (well, 60C in this room, but I can't feel my fingers) and I can't think what to eat ... so might not.

Popped out and walked round Sainsbobs earlier - couldn't be bothered to pick up anything I saw because the pain of queueing/paying was too great :) If I had it'd have most likely have been just a pack of 4 frozen fishcakes .... I did look for "the usual pizza I buy in there" but they seem to no longer be selling their chilli beef one.

So I've no tea.... and no motivation.
    It's sooooo cold..

Its wagging finger time now......which of course I know you will ignore but hey ho. You have to eat if its cold...well you have to eat full stop but even more when its cold. Have you got anymore soup? or a tin of beans and some toast? Anything really but try to eat something
  • ....and I havent the foggiest idea what temperature 60 is.....as I only think in Celsius (and PN wouldnt be writing to us right now if she'd boiled to death).

So what temperature is 60 in Celsius - and then I know what she means....

Ah....now I see. Yep - 15C is too cold. Suggested temperature for a sitting room is 20C. Personally - I keep mine at 21C.

I'd hazard a guess that, if economising madly, then it would be possible to manage with 18C - topped-up with wearing lots of layers of clothes/having a throw over oneself/hot drinks at intervals/etc.

Probably. I work in "old money" :)
I don't understand those modern measurements.

    It's 60° where 70° is a hot summer's day :)

    60°F is 15.5°C

I did eat ... not sure what use it is in getting warm. I had: A cheese triangle :)
