Breakfast today was: scrambled eggies, beans and hash browns, with a splash of brown sauce :)

I originally chose the beans as I thought "I'm having pie later and beans will go with that" but now I'm thinking it'd be better to use mixed veggies/gravy instead.... but I'll be able to get through the beans OK.

The pie I took from the freezer earlier and left it on the kitchen worktop for an hour or so before popping it into the fridge. It's the Steak & Claret pie I bought on 4 May, the final quarter.

the last soup is finished and tbh it went down very well, no peppers in it. My new organic delivery is due today so I have just prepared for another soup, this time adding some red lentils for bulk and healthiness. I took another package of shallo/onion saute out of the freezer and have chopped caulie/fennel bulb/celery/carrot. The fennel will give it good flavour so I am only adding parsley and a bit of marigold boulion. Then I will whizz and cool and keep in the fridge for three days after today. I look on my soups as a healthy eating basis for the day and I have an empty fridge drawer

I don`t know what else today, I am just about to finish some washed cherries and had weetabix with soya milk for breakfast. One weetabix left thank goodness and I may well crumble that on top of a stewed apple/berry/yoghurt mix for tomorrows breakfast

I feel so slow in getting through freezer food, at least the meat lasts a long time if raw but I am going to have to get my skates on re the fish

I have decided for today and made a veggie juice, broccoli/celery/carrot/otside lettuce leaves and 1/3 of a fresh lemon, no rind or pith. Was nice and I drank it and washed up, just letting it go down then I`ll get out on my bike for 1/2 an hour. Soup for lunch and no doubt chocolate and cake, later rice/fish and green beans

Got biggish boosts the last few days as a few people say they see I have lost weight. I am putting it down to cycling and generally good eating, must be doing something right because I feel so well. Long may it last

My son has an unwitting interest in preventing me from spending money. He rang 'for a quick chat' last night just as I was about to fit in my usual early Tuesday evening shopping trip. I time it to get back in shortly before I have to go out again.
He kept me chatting until I had no time to fit in the outing, so I guess that was money saved...

Oh well. Hope to get out later and get the now much needed shopping in.
It was no good telling him, when he wants to talk, he wants to talk. He doesn't get it from me, that's all I'll say.

Yep....call me vain:rotfl: - but I'd better not ever need a walking stick - as I wouldnt use that either:rotfl:

I hope you never do, but trust me, if you ever do you will be glad of it & s0d the vanity. I use a stick sometimes, but 18 months back I could not even walk, so a stick is big bonus

Apart from balance and anti wobble qualities another plus with a stick is it gets the sympathy vote for seats on a bus, and shopping assistants asking if want a hand [I don't], except of course in the obvious minimum wage CBA shops. Pedestrians and car drivers tend to make allowances, even some cars stop & wave me across at junctions. But that may all be down me looking like a bald old duffer with a stick & trolley :D

On trollies, today I spotted one like this, a three wheeled climbing one, could be a useful option, sort of the Land Rover version

It was 1 toast and chunky marmalade for breakfast
The off to mooch, no YS goodies to be had, none I fancied anyway, bunged the boxof detergent and loaf of bread in the trundler, very handy for chunky box of detergent

Dinner was using the same loaf, tiger bread 50p offer, with bacon & brown sauce today.

Dinner will be LO half of cold pizza, with LO salad bits & bobs, yesterday's similar meal was filling but it was a large salad. And my home grown radishes tasted just as I remember radishes tasting, nothing like shop ones I have been using

I think it's the white hair in my case - but I never used to find I was getting helped with getting luggage on/off trains as I recall.

These days - I seem to get some young person (including women) offering every time:cool:. So I smile sweetly and say "Thank you" and accept:cool:.

But I've just had a Pilates ring through the post today (as per used by Kittie). When she mentioned it I googled and promptly bought one - as I see that they are recommended for building strength up in arms and legs and I'm aware they've both been feeling weaker than normal for a bit now. So - think I shall keep that handy by the sofa - to encourage myself to multi-task whilst watching tv:)

EDIT; Just had quick browse through the section labelled "funky/trendy" on that shopping trolley website. ........and duly seen several I'd prefer to the one I actually got = oh well. Will bear that in mind if mine needs replacing at some point - and set aside rather more money to pay for it to what the current one cost....ahem....

That looks interesting. I haven't seen one like that, but it looks like it may be a lot easier to manoeuvre and stable that most of the others I have seen. I'm going to see if I can find anywhere local that stocks them, or another brand. Thanks :D

    Afternoon everyone,

Breakfast today was greek yoghurt and some mixed summer berries.
I defrosted a lamb leg steak for dinner today and had that at lunch time with some salad and new potatoes.
I will have a tuna mayo sandwich and a scone later.

On my travels this morning I popped into M&S and I like the look of their dine in for £10 offer this time around. If the dates had been a bit better on some of the choices I would have got one. Then I came home and thought about it, and wondered about the freezer space because they are things that I would/have bought individually in the past. I will probably get one, but I can't get back to M&S until Saturday now, so I hope that they have got all of my choices on the shelf early because I have to be back home by 9.30am.

    I've been Money Tipped!
I've had a complete dis-ah-ster... feel like slapping myself round the head.

Just realised - now it's in the oven and half cooked - that I didn't put any sugar in my bread and butter pudding custard mix .

I have been using the VeganEgg stuff and it mixes best in a blender... so I merrily shoved all the stuff in, squizzed it, built my pudding, and shoved it in the oven. Only when I turned around did I see the sugar pot on the worktop and then it was too late.

Now it's gonna be scrambled eggy bread with a hint of nutmeg.
