Good afternoon everyone,
I'm feeling a bit more like it today after a long sleep and a lazy morning.
No CFO for me today, my son is making brunch involving stornoway black pudding and lorne sausage and I'm off to my sister's tonight for dinner and no doubt a few wines:D

I frequently use an old Delia Smith book: One is fun! I've just had a quick peek on Amazon and I see a 1p offering ! Might be worth looking at

Lunch was most of the remaining chinese.
I retained one chicken ball (strip) .... and about 1/3rd of the noodles. Reheated the rest though and scoffed it ... can barely move.0 -

Personally - I find it always feels more worrying to be ill when on one's own (ie only yourself to rely on). Hopefully you'll both be raring to go again by tomorrow.
Thanks everyone, I am now up and about again, 24 hours sans grub sorts out most of my tum troubles I find. Still not fancying much food, and given the last 24 hours I think anything spicy or "heavy" would not be wise
With that in mind is was nil beakfast except a cuppa, and just two scrambled eggs + raw tom + cuppa for lunch
I did get out and about, bit of gardening [now spitting with, much needed, rain]
The Asda & Waitrose mooch was unproductive, no YS bargains to be had, unless you count a YS leg of lamb in Waitrose reduced to only £17.00, I gave that a miss of course
However my luck changed, I found a nice new fiver on the pavement :j oddly enough near where I found the bake it yourself herby baguette the other day, perhaps the area is the local black hole of super freebies?
Reading through the recent posting there are things I fancy in there, especially Caronc's rump steak with a mushroom and blue cheese sauce, with jersey royal spuds and green beansbut think it I will still keep to something light until tomorow
Tomorrow is birthday party time, granddaughter's 7th, so no need for me to CFO, but this set of parent's party buffets are more crisp & cola centric than salmon and salad based so may come home hungry, time will tellGardener’s pest is chef’s escargot0 -
Absolutely always so nice to have meal that someone else put together. So glad you enjoyed it
Quite agree, I always enjoy a meal more if I`ve not had to cook it. Been really spoilt this weekend, had a couple of shopping days out with a friend and ate out both days. Today we found a fabulous chip shop where you could have a meal in, they do a pensioner meal for 4.50, we had a lovely scampy, chips and salad with bread and butter and a big mug of tea. All cooked fresh while you wait. Got loads and couldn't eat it all.
Hope all the poorlies are feeling better and having a better day.Slimming World at target0 -
Glad your feeling better Farway
I'm changed and presentable LOL and heading my sister's around 6.30, we'll not eat until 8 ish as my nephew won't get home from work until 7. I know she being cooking up a storm and we are having three courses with slow roasted shoulder of pork in cider for main- definitely not a CFO type meal0 -

Farway glad you are feeling a bit better today.
I have had scrambled eggs on toast for breakfast, a prawn sandwich for lunch (I found the prawns when searching the freezer for a lemon of all things!) I think I bought them last month when I had an online delivery and they were on offer.
I have just had a lamb casserole that I cooked in the slow cooker, with some Jersey Royals, carrots and cabbage, I made enough to give me two portions to freeze. This is good because I can use up vegetables this way and have something different tomorrow without waste:j
I don't think I could eat anything else now but if I get hungry later I will have a greek yoghurt.
Enjoy your meal out Caronc and have a good evening all.0 -
