Just got this from a friend and it cheered me, nasty cold day so cant get n the garden, thought I`d share in case anyone else wants cheering up this morning.Slimming World at target0 -
I`ve just sat down with a cuppa, blimey some things take a long time, in fact the whole morning. The list:
prepared dough for sd bread, to be baked tonight
prepared for cheese scones, milk and kefir in a warm place. 1 lb of flour as freezes nicely. Will rub in and make later, when oven is on
grated cheese and there was too much for scones, steamed all the left over caulie, had in the vac jar for 10 days and spotless white, made cheese sauce with a real roux (butter and flour). Caulie cheese ready in an enamel dish (the brilliant old fashioned type) ready to grill soon
Blimey heck, so much standing. Got 1 lb of diced mutton de-frosting and 2 aubergines, so will make a mutton stew to cook slow tomorrow. It will just be a glug of this n that and maybe a touch of cinnamon. Should easily make 5 portions and will freeze 40 -
Holly, that yoghurt mix with berries sounds good but try and add a few nuts too, walnuts are very good for the heart and some rolled oats and sunflower seeds, then let it stand for a while to soak and thicken up. That is what I meant by cereal, I have similar soaking for my morning snack today and it is something to look forward to
I don`t have any meal planned yet, got to put my thinking cap on, otherwise I will pick
I didn't get any nuts when I was shopping this morning but I will do when I next go out. I have added some oats to yoghurt and some defrosed summer berries and I will have this this afternoon when my DB and SIL are eating their scones this afternoon. This way it is the healthy option.0 -
Holly has your doc told you to cut down on salt? There is new thinking these days that the reduced salt guidelines were wrong. Salt is essential for our hearts to work properly, we used to have salt licks when we had horses and we should be sensitive to what we need, like the animals are. Our bodies tell us eg sometimes we can crave something salty, like crisps. I always add just two tiny grains of himalayan salt to my pasta water and I now put a little salt in my soups. My husband`s blood sodium level was very low, then soon afterwards he died while out keeping fit and healthy and almost all our adult lives we had this cutting out of salt. My family listen to what their bodies say and so do I, now0 -
Good afternoon everyone,
Not the best start to the day as when I got up my balance was kaput and I had raging tinnitus so the only thing for it was meds and back to bed until it settled. Thankfully it has a bit, but I suspect I'll be mainly horizontal today.
Just had the last of duck eggs poached and thoroughly enjoyed them.
Although my son will be arriving in a bit I'm still CFO as he's out with his mates tonight no idea what to have probably a freezer raid or a piece of steak.:)0 -
Afternoon all, I will also be assuming the mainly slovenly horizontal postion today, down to making very good friends with Mr Shank's white telephone during the night. I finally got up at 1130, and am sat here in dressing gown with head, back & guts ache, like a brave little soldier
No idea what caused it, my meals were frozen fish & chips and banana sandwich
Needless to say no food required or fancied for today, the YS Lidl chilli is now in the freezer
Don't even fancy cup of tea, just some M & S presse that I have knocking around
Bit of a bummer, today's intention was some gardening, but not to beGardener’s pest is chef’s escargot0 -
