So that's one of my projects lined-up - ie to expand my cereal range beyond "porridge and....".
I'm not big on cereals. Growing up I remember Frosties and Sugar Puffs, Chocolate Cocoa Pops and Weetabix. There were cornflakes, but I didn't like those. In the main, as a family, we didn't ever eat breakfast, but there was cereal in the house for "snacks".

Nowadays, since I've started buying cereal again, I've tried Honey Nut Cornflakes, they're nice enough - I eat those dry. And I've also gone back to Weetabix (well, Lidl version) - but that's something that needed milk/sugar, so I bought my first bag of sugar for about 20 years ...and now occasionally buy milk and have 2 Bixies. Having said that - I'll have one of those tomorrow as I still have milk to use up that I bought a week ago and keep staring at! It's got 2 days left on the date label, so maybe I'll have it with Bixies and not make anything exciting with it (which is how I planned to use it).

I like own brand special k type cereal with red berries. Tesco is the best one I've found, but Asda's is nice.

    Today's been mixed.

Breakfast was porridge with a few sultanas, a banana and a huge mug of pukka detox tea. When I had my last decluttering session we worked out I had 28 types of tea so I'm trying to use them up!

Tea was salmon, with a glug of lime juice and some ground black pepper, wrapped in foil and bunged in the oven. With it I had tomatoes sliced aubergine, courgettes, and red peppers, drizzled in basil infused oil and also bunged in the oven. On the one hand, I weighed the veg to be sure that I was getting full portions, on the other I had two salmon fillets. The excuse being they went out of date to day, the reason being I love salmon. And apple juice to drink.

Snacks, a yoghurt and half a pot of olives.

    So seven portions of f&v.

Unfortunately I also went on an epic binge where I ate more chocolate than all the other food added together. I really need to get a handle on that.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

This is a great thread for anyone wanting to lose weight. Lots of support and advice. Since I lost almost 4 stone to get to target weight, I now only allow myself to put on a few pound before getting it off again.

    Thanks Meg.

There is an OS weight loss thread too which I'm thinking of joining. Just bought some new weighing scales and I know I just need to cut down. It'd take more forever to get my head round free/syn foods so I'm just going to use the old style tried and tested method of eating less and moving more :D

ETA On that note I best get me fat arris in to gear and get to work ;)

I weigh myself every quarter - more than that means you can't "live" - every quarter gives you enough of an idea if you need to rein it in or carry on as you were.

Worrying about it more often will just make one comfort eat under the heading of "Oh bugg4h it ... where's that cake?"

I have to go shopping today really .... completely out of coffee now. Out of bread for 2 weeks, out of eggs for nearly a week. No spuds left. No kitchen paper. Low on margarine. No cheddar.
It's about time.... trouble is, once out, you see goodies.
