When I moved I left a big healthy rosemary bush, in a big pot - gave it to my neighbour, and she says it's still doing well. Must be nine or ten years old by now.
I grew it on my windowsill - stole four small sprigs from my daughter's (because it had flowers of such a lovely shade of blue), stuck them in a pot of soil, watered occasionally, and waited.
It worked! Potted on into a bigger pot twice - Bob's your uncle!
Now....I've noticed my small local station has a healthy looking rosemary bush in its garden.......hmmm....!
Keeping two cats and myself on a small budget, and enjoying life while we're at it!

    Back again

I thought it was only me growing rosemary from supermarkets

For a few years now I have been buying the YS growing ones from Asda, I planted them in the local Age Concern border as shrubs / hedging, as well as my garden. dead easy, and bees love the flowers

Just a shame I do not buy lamb that often now, not just on price but since I found out most of it is slaughtered using Halal rituals. Maybe just me but I object to having others religous practices foisted upon me, especially when it is very much under cover. Rant over

Yesterday's pancakes were excellent, did them with sliced banana & honey topping, scoffed all 5, no more now until 2018

Found YS 75% pork with leek & chives sausages in Waitrose wander this morning, down to £1.25 for 6, do for 3 meals, two were sacrificed in a bake your own baguette this lunchtime, rest will do for tomorrow

Tonight is the other half of my M & S meal for 2 for a tenner, pork chops, rosti cakes and steamed fresh veg, including some of a huge cauli found on offer in Lidl yesterday, will keep me going for a week or so, floret here & there. I have eaten it raw as well, and it suprisingly nicer raw than one may think
Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens

    Afternoon everyone
Still blinking freezing here and colder by the minute - no idea why I thought it was a good idea to have a salad lunch :eek:when I've HM soup in the freezer better suited to the weather. Still used up some lingering bits and pieces. Pot of mince is on with onion, carrot, celery, leek and mushrooms in it and it's beginning to smell lovely. Will lob a tin of butter beans in it later and I've decided a dumpling has won over the mash. Should be a comforting meal for what I hope is one of the last kicks of winter. There will be a whack leftover but I'm happy to freeze it or if I cba tomorrow make some cottage pies :)
