Morning all
I have a few window sill plants i have grown from seed ...rosemary which I am not convinced is doing that well but I am not very patientchives which are going crazy
6 different chilli plants which will need to go into big pots soon
Last year I got a really big crop of chillies which went into my chilli jam and chilli oil. Need more this year as I always end up having to give it all away. I am also planning on some window sill mint (dont like it in the garden as it just takes over) some basil ( I love it pesto and with mozzerella) and maybe some parsley. My garden is pretty awful soil wise so this year but I may chuck a rosemary plant out there and hope I have PNs green fingers
Today is a classic cooking for one issue with a big load of yesterdays spag bol left which I will have to eat dont want to but I dont have a choice...well I do I could chuck it out but I wont be doing that so its groundhog day again.0 -

Re your spag bol what about stuffing it in a pancake or wrap and popping some cheese sauce on the top to ring the changes?:)0 -
Morning folks :hello:
I don't normally eat in the morning but for some reason I'm really hungry. Thinks it's because I've been up half the night again.
Going to make some scrambled eggs with my last 2 eggs I think.
I really must buy some seeds to grow some herbs and chillis...it's on my to do list now this week. I agree Rosemary will do much better outside than in and tends to be very hardy and easy to grow.'I'm sinking in the quicksand of my thought
And I ain't got the power anymore'0 -

I got mine from the local Wyevale garden centre and the choice was immense ...I ended up with 6 different chilli plants which vary greatly in heat and taste:T
Love all the different colours of chillies once they start fruiting0 -
If you don't eat a certain amount of calories on a regular basis I have heard your body goes into survival mode and stores up fat reserves although I don't know how true that is...I think basil is an annual - so it would have died over winter. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0

Can't stick it in the freezer, if you don't fancy it now it'll just become something that makes your heart sink every time you open the freezer
If the spaghetti and the sauce are separate, you could lob some chilli at the sauce and use it as a jacket spud topping -and lob the spaghetti into the fridge or freezer.
It's all about "fancying it" when it's "for one"... that's the real problem.
Any fool can come up with a recipe for one, or meal lists for one - but will you really fancy it ....? And, you can change your mind at the last minute, having slaved over a slow cooker for hours you can still not fancy it and eat toast....0 -
I've not really bothered today as I haven't yet reached any decisions.... at all.
I ended up having a banana and a crumpet/chocolate spread for lunch.
I could make a gazillion things .... but you can only make something once you decide - and you can only decide when you fancy something.
I'm out of bread and peas at the moment. Two potatoes and two eggs remain. I've still got the pitta and baguettes I bought in for Christmas to tackle (vacuum packs/2-3 month lifespan).
I was thinking of making a bara brith cake today as it's St David's ... but then I thought about the huge amount of gratuitous calories in last week's sponge and thought "Biffer, forget it".
While I am out of some things, I think I am starting to hoard food (must be you lot to blame for that!) ... and so I need to do a stock take at some point in the next couple of weeks and start to kill some of the mega-stocks. e.g. I've got lasagne sheets I bought three years ago and not made a lasagne yet! Could do a veggie lasagne in the slow cooker to kill the bag of mixed veg I hate the look of in the freezer - AND the freezer seriously needs defrosting now, had it nearly 3 years and it's not been done before.
I've got milk right now, bought for pancakes yesterday. Bought a 1 pint bottle (44p) and have about 2/3rds of that left. Can't decide - could do a cheese sauce with some of that and a mac/cheese .... or what about a quiche .... or I could make some chocolate milk drink with the end of the choc spread jar.... indecisions everywhere.0 -

Yep - have to eat, but don't want. Nobody else to foist it onto, nobody else that might like it, no dog ... you have to eat it ... just you. You bought/made it, it's up to you to eat it ... all.

Pasta and sauce are all chucked into one bowl so cant really get creative with it so I will live with it0
