I somertimes find if I cook a big meal by the time it's served I can't eat it. That's why I tend to prep as much as possible the day before if I'm having folk round :D I wouldn't get stressed at the 10 a day they are still saying 5 is the official recommendation more would seem to be better but some is better than none at all:)
Don't worry, I'm not stressing about 10 a day; even being veggie, I can't manage 5 x 80g portions in a 24 hour period, and I'm not going to force myself to do it.:o But I was daft enough to read the thread, and it focussed my mind on food.:(
I don't cook for others (apart from Mr LW) at all. I refuse. Totally. And bless him, he helps as much as possible, usually washing up as whatever I've finished using as soon as it's finished with. :A
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

That's a great place, I want a new kitchen from them! The fish place is at the bottom of the hill. They do a bargain wine basket to btw..

I guessed you were in my vicinity, I'm in killie. Arran is lovely just now with a snowy Goat Fell :D

Looks like we're all much of a similar age around these parts, I'm 51 in April. Though often feel much older creaky body wise and much younger mentally!

Lame Wolf I'm sorry to hear today's not a good one x
I mispent a fair part of my teens in Killie at the KadieKoi and various other less than salubrious venues LOL :o
Oh the kitchens are so beautiful but I'd need a wee lottery win.........

I count calories... I just had a quick tot up of my cake ... and it's at least 1000. If I did it accurately it'd probably nudge closer to 1100 though.

OMG ... and I'd had the pie earlier, although that was just 350.

I've had about 2200 calories today. I'd better stop now ... and cut back tomorrow.

Forget 10/day ... it'll make us all fat.

Considering how little you eat some days I don't think you've much to worry about - just eat half a cake tomorrow and add more sultanas to the mix...........:rotfl:

karcher - hope you are feeling at leasta bit better, havingrecovered myself I can really sympathise

Yesterday did not go to plan regarding easy digestible food on day out, started badly in Waterstone's cafe with a chocolate brownie, then fell completely into disrepute with fish & chips in the Cathedral cafe

I did enjoy them though, and never made me ill again, plus this morning I am two pounds lighter that last Saturday, perhaps I can recommend the Goblin diet?
Plus I grabbed a M & S meal for two a tenner, pork chops option, should do for at least two days

Not today though, I have some stale crusts knocking around, so cheese on toast, tin of beans on top, plus fried eggs on that, and a grilled tom for veg for dinner

    Lunch was cheese salad sarnie

Veg count today is thus 5/10, and bread is wholemeal so I should be bursting with health

Do processed cocoa beans [AKA chocolate] count as veg? If so then count is 6/10

Lol only if you put it in cabbage soup, glad you enjoyed your day

I don't have a bog standard cheese so any suggestions as to whether sage Derby, Wensleydale with cranberries or very ripe brie would work best?

Wensleydale is one of my absolute favourite cheeses :D and would be perfect with baked pots and beans imho :)

ETA Wensleydale on it's own...but not sure about with cranberries..sorry misread the post.

    So I would pick Brie.
