I've been thinking about that anyway, thanks for reminding me. Okay just off to read through twenty pages.
I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy0 -
Great tip re the pre-mix dumplings PN- you really should be getting these all down somewhere:)
But I fear "the public gaze" so never tell anybody where that is.
... dried exotic fruit mix with a little out of the pack with a BB of 2012needless to say I had no idea what I had bought it for ........

Pizza today I think ... not actually thought about food really. Belly full of choccies, it's no wonder.
Had 2 bits of toast first thing this morning.... but I don't like cooking when it starts to get dark, so I'd better think about cooking a pizza in the next hour or so. I'll chuck some bits of onion on it probably ... maybe a little extra cheese. Nothing extravagent or exciting. It's one of the frozen box-of-3 which are basic cheese/tomato ones.
I'll eat half now and munch the second half cold this evening.0 -
Ah the old slow cooker thing.
But seriously, the slow cooker is not for me now.
Same here, I used to use it fairly often, cooking old & tough meat sort of thing, or brown gloop casseroles, all of which tasted the same as others have said.
Now it squats in cupboard, along with spud chipper thing and electric meat / bread slicing whatsit that is too much trouble to wash, as well as possibly removing a finger or two if not careful
Not so much cooking for one more like reheating for one tonight, it is Iceland frozen Chicken Po [maybe poo, never had one of them] and boil in bag rice
It was toss up between that & frozen fish & chips, but the Po will give me chance to try & see if worthwhile getting another one on next Iceland mooch
Please to report today's repeat of the bacon bap and brown sauce lunch was just as tasty as yesterday, could be a habit on the way, I have two more rashers left so could easily take me through to Thursday without having to think "what's for lunch"?Gardener’s pest is chef’s escargot0 -
PN - maybe you should think "blow the 'public gaze' " idea and do your version of "cooking for singles" at some point? Personally - I rather like a logical take on things too...
But then maybe that's me getting more than a little fed-up at the moment about being expected to change views according to whatever the date on the calendar says (currently 2017) and then change them again in a few years time and then again a few years later - and so on.
To which I tend to have a two word response that boils down to "I might (yep...do) take account of current fashions when it comes to food and yep...I like my food modern (rather than 1960s/70s) - but I'd rather decide my personal opinions in accord with Eternal Values - rather than those prevalent in the decade/country/etc I happen to be living in right at this exact moment"....:cool:0 -
Well, the pizza plan didn't go as planned. Got it out, splashed some extra toppings over it, cooked it, cut it in half, ate half ...... then dashed to the kitchen to finish off the other half

Gotta be vegetarian.
Any (vegetarian) ideas welcome besides the cheese/tomato - which is all I can think of currently.
Extra toppings for veggie pizzas are my forte..
Onion, pepper (red/green or both), mushrooms, chilli pepper, tomato, spinach, goats cheese, cheddar, mozzarella, courgette, eggs, garlic, asparagus, quorn chicken pieces (though I rarely buy them as they are a bit expensive)....
but never sweetcorn or pineapple..that is just plain wrong'I'm sinking in the quicksand of my thought
And I ain't got the power anymore'0 -
