  • Not long now until the weekly email, looks like a lot of people will be arranging a switch tomorrow, either to a collective MSE arrange or elsewhere...

I took out some insurance by switching to IRESA today!
Fixed deals have started to disappear!
I started out with nothing and I still have most of it left!

  • Looks like MSE have nothing for England, Scotland and Wales collective is in the works.
  • Still nothing confirmed, but a possible tariff for Scotland and Wales only. I live in Scotland, so my dilemma continues. I'm tempted to sign up to Iresa and cancel within the cooling off period if the CEC deal happens. I really can't afford to end up on BG's standard tariff.

I'm in just in wales, although what I don't get is why miss England out ? but it does suggest for England to get the cheap fixes whilst they can with prices hiking, which in turn could potentially give England the overhaul better deal if this switch falls through given its not signed yet and prices have hiked again within the next 2 weeks.?
That's a gamble Wales and Scotland will have to take do they wait or switch ?
as of know I think I'm going to wait see what happens

Luckwudhav as I understand it so someone correct me if I'm wrong ..we can switch to another supplier within 20 working days after the current tariff ends and keep current prices according to the letter I had recently from BG

so as long as the switch went smoothly and you don't owe any money to BG we have a further 20days after 28th to switch

Yes, that's my understanding too. But the Iresa deal could disappear any day, esp if there's big demand today from Englandshire.
  • I have switched to Scottish Power Online Fix end June 2018 , was concerned with talk of all the price hikes , Fixes are going to be pulled .

I was concerned , due to talk of price increases , Fixes will be pulled so wanted peace of mind
  • I have switched to Avro today. 13.23p kwh Electricity, 2.903p Gas, 21p standing charge on both accounts. Good early reviews.

There is a 14 day cooling off period, so if any magic happens with MSE's group switch you can back out. In addition to this there is no exit fee and only 28 days notice to terminate required.

Of the three lowest tariff providers -
The early feedback on IRESA seems far too negative and reminds me of Extra Energy's terrible attitude to legal action against customers, so I wont go anywhere near a company like that.

Affect has good early reviews BUT requires exit fees minimum £25 per account (MSE), or £30 (according to Which) - so I have opted not to select them even though they are marginally cheaper than Avro.
