What do you mean, as in shared dish if so how was I magically meant to know before I applied? And as I said the advisor on phone said I would get a dish installed.0 -

Why did you not think to mention those sockets when asking for your Sky installation?0 -
I fail to see what the problem is.
Sky are asking for a Landlords written permission before they make modifications to the landlords property, OP has such letter.
Whats the problem?0 -
Perhaps by noticing those two sockets on your living room wall - the ones where the Sky installer plugged the new fly leads in.
You mean the sockets that are indistinguishable from a Cable connection? That looked even more like a cable connection when they had something screwed into them that is nothing like a Sky connector? Especially when my internet is with Virgin and they said there is a connection already in the property?
By the way to let you know I am trained in electronics and IT, so I know a fair bit about electronics.0 -

One they said a dish would be put up on phone.
That at no point did they say a dish wouldn't as I would never of continued with the order had I known it was communal.
Then they demand proof for something that was agreed at first and they took payment for.
All I have is a quick email from the landlord saying its fine, as well as word of mouth when I moved in.0 -
Have you considered asking your landlord why you weren't informed of the communal dish when you moved in and does your tenancy agreement say anything about supply of services such as sky?0

Did the installer bring a Sky Dish with him to fit?. My friend took out a contract with Sky but already had a Sky Dish, when the installer came to fit it he brought a dish so my friend asked to keep him because it was already paid for.
You could have kept the dish and fitted it yourself. If you don't have the dish then you can get one on eBay and just fit it yourself.0 -
Friends in a similar position just bought a dish and some clamps, they then attached the dish to a South facing terrace railings and removed it when they left.0
