    Morning all

Shattered this morning and it's gloomy and rainy. Need to perk myself up!

Fun times yesterday as the postman delivered my pension statement and my smear test "invitation". It's all go chez Fanta! :D

    Today's things:
    • B/L/D from stores
    • Cleared some emails and unsubscribed from a load
    • OH to finish housework after getting sidetracked yesterday!
    • Juice and slice those blimmin oranges
    • Reconcile the budget sheet with OH
    • Charge phone in work
    • Take rings back to Dunhelm (didn't get a chance yesterday as OH was so long in the opticians)
    • Moved money from my NatWest rewards to my account.
    • No drinkies
    Have a good one all

Morning cl2009 & clf :) yay to another weekend day and I march towards getting back my free day a week! (I have found it hard working 3 days one week and 4 the next and want to go back to my much more reasonable 2/3 working pattern!) 2 more ot shifts - although I may do a 3rd as mil has suggested she will have madam next Friday which means I can get another day squeezed in before the end of the month. Really hard to turn down extra money although I am missing having a day to myself every other week!

    Plans for today:

    * going for a walk when oh gets up and has had breakfast - although it's grey and dreary here....
    * [STRIKE]put beef brisket in the sc[/STRIKE]
    * [STRIKE]load of washing[/STRIKE]
    * [STRIKE]need to do some vacuuming & cleaning today before the house descends into chaos...[/STRIKE] enlisted oh's help and the whole house is now clean - well except for the bathroom which I'll do shortly. I even cleaned the kitchen windows :A
    * didn't make fairy cakes with madam so will do that later on
    * going to spend an hour doing my tax return tonight
    * [STRIKE]pay mechanic for work he did [/STRIKE]- trying to work out what pot I can rob to pay for it! I had set aside £100 as I wanted to do the thing from YNAB where you build up your current account to the point where you are always spending the previous month's money iykwim. Guess that will have to be set back by a month...
    * definitely going to list some things on fleabay today
    * get bags/clothes/lunches/shoes ready for tomorrow....
    * frozen cubes of buttermilk out of the freezer to make a soda bread so I can avoid the shops for another day or two :)

Ok that'll do... Happy days guys x

    Morning all
    - Did the market research last night after all which was a free dinner.
    - Continuing the YS debate. Foxglove I would buy a dented tin if it wasn't dented around the opening and it is something that I would use. Pleased with myself yesterday I used Yorkshire-lass' YS questions and didn't buy anything!
    - so I'm going shopping today the MS way.
    - I've got the app for the shopping centre and there is free parking and a free coffee on there which I'll use. Also 50% off pretzels if I treat my DD.
    - We'll probably have lunch at KFC so I'll collect my loyalty points and go for the cheapest meal.
    - Taking back an unwanted Christmas pressie to Debenhams. I've no receipt so I expect to get a voucher :-(
    - Take some sale clothes back because one doesn't fit right and the other I'm undecided about and think I probably have enough work blouses so think it's best to get a refund.
    - Need to find a winter coat for my DD so will be looking through the sales rails. This is going to be hard work! She is very fussy!
    - I need new work trousers unfortunately very likely to be full price as I was to make sure they match my suit jacket and want a specific cut which is forgiving on me!
    - buy some cheap leggings for my DD bless her she was making do with some holy ones by wearing shorts over the top. Bad mum.
    - Going to the Works for some cheap War Romance books - one for your mum FV?

    Morning chums :hello:

Crazy_lady, sorry you've been having a rough time of it :( hope things brighten up a little for you this week x Do people stay with you for longer holidays, or is it just a one night thing?

I *think* this is the cashmere gloves link I'd talked to someone else about but there may be more - this just came up first in my search

    https://www.turtle-doves.co.uk/pages/recycle-my-cashmere-jumper

I believe they make your pair and another pair, which they sell, from the one jumper. But you get 'free' gloves for the cost of the jumper and postage.

Got a few plans for today:

    * made scones for breakfast (mostly because we ran out of porridge and I forgot to put the bread machine on last night :rotfl: )
    * got a car full of stuff to take to the tip - money saving because it means it won't have to move house with us :D
    * banks/ynab
    * home made pizza for tea - dough is out of the freezer and I'm wishing I'd taken it out of the plastic bag while it was still frozen cos it's looking incredibly sticky now :rotfl:
    * will make soup for work lunches and freeze later
    * must also remember to put bread machine on so I can freeze slices for work lunches
    * meal plan and shopping list - although I don't think we need much at all this week, just a bit of fresh stuff :j :j

Have a good day all :j

Well, I had decided that I was going to have a lazy pyjama day today. Just sitting on my favourite sofa, eating rubbish, being on here, crochet, bit of bookmarking etc. Went into the kitchen and accidentally got sucked into completely cleaning the fridge out. I suppose at least I can't call it a lazy day now, and I do have a sparkly clean fridge. Might have to have words with whoever laid the milk down flat on a shelf in there though...
  • whoop just been invited to the outlaws for roast lamb - can stretch my supplies out another day! Will also mean we will be passing by the SM around reduction time so will see if I can get a couple of ys loaves :)

I got my debt free badge awarded this week. I paid off the last of my loan just before the end of 2016 making me debt free :-). I can certainly say that it is the small things that make a difference. Small amounts saved here or not spent there build up and either cover sundry expenses such as hair cuts and presents or go towards paying off creditors.
Paid off the last of my unsecured debts in 2016. Then saved up and bought a property. Current aim is to pay off my mortgage as early as possible. Currently over paying every month. Mortgage due to be paid off in 2036 hoping to get it paid off much earlier. Set up my own bespoke spreadsheet to manage my money.

CL2009 Hope things are looking up

CLF You sure know how to live :D

We are off to see middle DSS and family this afternoon and have just found out that my favourite DSD (okay, she's my only DSD :rotfl: ) will be back from her BF's early enough to come with us which is always good :T

I've offered to pay for DS and DSGF to go to the cinema today as they are going stir crazy being holed up in here all the time. I need to check prices and hope there will be enough for them to go to McJunk first as the cinema food is apparently really nice but really expensive. (It's an Everym@n cinema so all nice sofas and food delivered to your seat.)

Dinner tonight is going to be leftover Christmas buffet bits and pieces from the freezer with mash and some sliced ham.

I am putting off and putting off ebaying some clothes, my least favourite thing to sell on account of the ironing involved :o I think I will give everything a wash to freshen it up and then I will feel like I'm doing something without *actually* doing what I'm supposed to be doing :rotfl:

Have a lovely day all of you :)
