Snow on the way are you ready for it

Yes, my mum has said that it's snowing up home now. She said the wind was terrible through the night - their house backs onto a field, so there is no protection from the wind.
I also saw in the papers plenty of houses/cars that have been damaged in the North of England.
Oh no, mardatha! I don't remember seeing snow quite that deep. I have just remembered being maybe about twelve and running across the road and doing flips into the snow on the pavement at the other side :rotfl: we were also building igloos! We lived at the top of a hill and very, very few cars actually managed to make it up to the top!0 -
Last I saw in central London it was 11 degrees, toasty! Not quite as sunny as this morning, but my first lot of laundry is out since morning and the next lot is going in a few minutes. I just soooo hope it does not snow here. Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0

Cold and very windy here, with heavy hail showers. Lots of branches down but nothing structural yet - boat is in the canal basin safe for a couple of days. We have snow forecast from later today.
Power on but off a little further north, so fingers crossed. We're organised for it either way. Feels quite christmassy at last :rotfl:0 -
It's dry here atm but it got colder during the course of the day and we will *probably* have snow late tomorrow. Met Office warnings have been circulated around the local authority this afternoon.
My neck of the woods copes very badly with even a modest modicum of snow, so if we do get any, it'll be interesting in not-a-good way.
Glad to hear the fishing boat is safe and hope everyone stays well, warm and with the properties undamaged. GQ xEvery increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Hasn't snowed down here on my birthday since I was 13. Had a Snow Day off school as a result.
I'm hoping I'll get the same day off school this Friday....I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
No snow so far in SE London, woke up this morning to a silence, run to the window fearing the worst but all dry and clear, thanks goodness! Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0

I have a small kindle fire, the £39 one and last night watched henry 8th (prime) and his six wives, it only took 20% of battery power, that has inspired me to downlad a few films, it has a large enough memory. I will keep it fully charged and that gives me something to watch, sitting on my recliner while knitting and I won`t mention the chocolate as I only eat it once a day. Just in case they electricity goes off
ps, I can knit in the dark and will have my head torch handy if I need to look at the pattern0 -
Dry as a bone atm (I looked out onto my back garden earlier thinking if I had the time, this would be a really good time to clear away what's left of the leaves!) but rain predicted shortly.
We'll get the snowy stuff from 6pm but it won't stick as it will have been wet all day. Doesn't look like we'll see it tomorrow either.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

We've had a pretty little flurry, and it's stuck - although not standing up to much, can already see the pavement where folk have walked. Supposed to carry on all day though0
