That's interesting - so clearly, they haven't put a formula in place for their operators..............yet!!

I've had the letter today, as well - I've just spoken to them, using the FREE 0800 702702 number. I disputed the chargeback and told them that they accepted my offer to buy, that they debited my credit card the full amount and then re-credited my card with the £25, which were totally separate actions, confirming their acceptance of the code. By waiting 10 weeks to notify me of the chargeback, they have deprived me of the opportunity to return the goods as they are not at a price acceptable to me.
I was told to write in, I stated that I had no intention of wasting further time and money with them writing in, but will go straight to legal recourse. Allegedly, a manager will call me back this afternoon.
The letter had arrived today, but checking online I find that the £25 was recharged back to my account on 19th September - the next statement date is 6th October, but any letter I may have written would not now reach them until next Thursday, due to the Postal Strike.

Just phoned them, had a very helpful lady. She was rather baffled as to why id been charged as she couldnt find a £25 credit voucher on any of my statements and she went back to april! (placed the order july) She was as baffled as me as to why id been recharged when my order hadnt gone through in the first place! So she is getting the department who sent me the letter to give me a call'They only had one cow!'0

I've just had the phone call back from one of their managers, Liz Turner (phone 0151 949 2420); she is adamant that the chargebacks will stand and that any that have been rescinded over the past few days have been rescinded by phone operators that were not aware of the circumstances - further, that the rescinded ones will be recharged again.
She stated that Littlewoods have been in contact with Trading Standards and have been told that they are within their rights - I pointed out that MY legal rights have been infringed, by them notifying me too late for me to return the goods, but she didn't want to hear that and kept saying that 'We've only just found out'. I did comment that their system problems were not my problem, she seemed to go deaf at that point.
Very interesting customer relations - and no, this is not the end of it!!I only exist in my own mind - if you can see, hear or read me, you are a product of my imagination.0 -
Not sure if my case is a bit different, i opened an account with them and still had a small balance left to pay, they have now put the voucher back on plus and admin charge of £12 and stating that my arrears are larger than my account has even had charged to it (originally £5.00 paid £2.50 had £2.50 on last statement then this statement shows arrears are £24.50!!), all the letter on the thread appear to be related to people who have paid by card,do I have a leg to stand on as I still had a balance with them, can't even ring them as account is in DH's name.
any help appreciated including what should I put in my email.

They are in breach of the Distance Selling Regulations (2000) Section 3.1 (iii), by changing the amount charged 2 and a half months after despatch;the goods people received will, in all likelihood, have been used and therefore cannot be returned.
