Aren't Littlewoods breaching the Data Protection Act by keeping customers credit/debit details on file after a completed transaction.

As I have written above, consumer direct informed me that this is illegal and that we have no obligation to pay it. So, they can't do anything against you.
Goal: Win a car (or cash to buy one :))! -- Haha goal from when I was a student. Never actually won this but got a good job instead.

do you want to hear something funny. i tried to redeem this code in july (25 pound one), got the confirmation, but one of my items went out of stock so voided the code, never got 25 pound refund at all. got a statement. they wanted 25 pounds off me for a code i didn't even use! two fone calls later they've decided to refund my account.
i will never use littlewoods or their codes again!! what a balls up!

I got the very same letter this morning. However, I returned the item in question & when I looked at my account yesterday it showed a £25 credit!

I suppose technically I could use the credit for another purchase & be covered just the same.

I've sent a letter to them today telling them I will not be paying (as they have not responded to my e-mails), unfortunately it won't get there till next Thursday due to the Royal Mail strike!

I've had the letter today, as well - I've just spoken to them, using the FREE 0800 702702 number. I disputed the chargeback and told them that they accepted my offer to buy, that they debited my credit card the full amount and then re-credited my card with the £25, which were totally separate actions, confirming their acceptance of the code. By waiting 10 weeks to notify me of the chargeback, they have deprived me of the opportunity to return the goods as they are not at a price acceptable to me.

I was told to write in, I stated that I had no intention of wasting further time and money with them writing in, but will go straight to legal recourse. Allegedly, a manager will call me back this afternoon.

The letter had arrived today, but checking online I find that the £25 was recharged back to my account on 19th September - the next statement date is 6th October, but any letter I may have written would not now reach them until next Thursday, due to the Postal Strike.

Not a happy bunny, but quite content to take it all the way.
I only exist in my own mind - if you can see, hear or read me, you are a product of my imagination.
