But arent we all crooks for using codes that arent actually issued to us. I used the code and spent £29, which meant i thought the goods i were getting would only cost me £4, the way i see it is you win some you lose some. I'm more than happy to draw a line under this and pay up. I'm not gonna allow myself to get stressed and let a £25 code take over my every thought. I have had plenty of bargains in the past thanks to people on this site. But i'm not gonna harp on about how bad a company is just because one of these offers have gone pear shape, as far as i'm concerned its the risk you take when using codes off these boards.0 -
Yeah but what if they look back at all the codes you have used on the all the different Littlewoods catalogue sites and decide to ask for all the money for the codes back?
It would'nt just be £25 for me.
And its not as if they have not had a chance to fix the problem.0 -
Anyone thought about petitioning the Prime Minister to step in about this mis-carriage of justice

I have also given up and paid the £25 and closed my account after writing to them twice and receiving their standard response. I have also called these muppets on several occasions and they are not backing down.
I have learnt my lesson and will not be ordering from the w*nkers ever again!"He's a maniac, maniac that's for sure,
He will kill your cat and nail him to the door"

It's a shame so many people are paying this £25 - although they believe it is unjust. You are merely giving in - which is just what Littlewoods want. It begs the question as to how far back you would let Littlewoods claw back a voucher code. In the £25 instance - they are coming back after 6 to 8 weeks - if they wrote to you and said "you bought something from us in January 2005 and used a £15 code you were not entitled to use - we want the £15" - would you pay up ??0

Well I have not paid yet.
As far as I am concerned they have not formally asked me for the money.
They have informed me the code has been cancelled.
If I look at my online account it shows the code is cancelled but no outstanding balance.
I have not received and would not expect to receive a statement as I don't have an account with them.
The original letter made no reference to me paying the money just that they have cancelled the code.
Therefore as I understand it there is at present no debt.
I have just asked them what is happening with my letter with this "Clerical" error.
I can spin the words just like littlewoods can and run them round and round in circles for months if I have toAugust Make £10 per day £0/£310Credit Card Debt Paid Off £42/2952.680 -

quick update, spoke to a nice lady who checked my 20% off code and said that she couldn't find it anywhere on the system but gave me 10% which really suprised me but she was also taking into considaration the 2 month wait for the item, unreturned phone calls, rude staff etc that I have already complained about.LBM-29/08/07

I have argued the toss with them over this for weeks now, and still don;t have my goods in spite of them (unlawfully in my opinion) taking more money from my bank account than I agreed to. By email they agreed to refund the full voucher, then when that did not materialise into my bank they said that a £15 refund would be on it's way, I disagreed with this saying that'd already offered a full refund and where was the rest of it. They said, £18.50 is on it's way......a week later still no sign, I email again and am told "it has been passed on to our finance dept and will be credited to your account in 7 days". That is next Tuesday.
In the mean time I am looking to see what guarantees my bank offer re VISA transactions on a debit card. I don;t think that they should be able to take more than I consented to. If there is a perceived problem with the order they should contact the buyer in the first instance and not take any money until the order has been delivered (like most online companies I've used).
If the money gets to my bank within 7 days I'll report back.0 -
Just got a slightly snooty email when I stated my next action would be legal action -
Dear ****,
Thank you for your recent email regarding a £25.00 discount that you obtained in a transaction with Littlewoods.
After speaking to our legal department we find we made our position clear in our previous email and our decision stands. We have nothing further to add on this matter.
Regards,
Looks like I need to pluck up the courage to take this to the small claims court. Does anybody know what the worst would be if we took it that far and lost?0
