Well I am gonna fight it... they state that the voucher will be validated at checkout... they do have systems in place to reject a code at order stage
"Unfortunately we are unable to process your recent order as our records show you are not eligible for the promotional discount applied to your order. Terms and conditions apply. Therefore we are unable to process the order with the promotion.
However, if you wish you can re-submit the order without the promotion if the goods are still required, simply Click Here."

This wasnt the case and the appropiate refund allowed I have passed this to my friend who is a contract solicitor and whilst there T&Cs do allow the increase I am advised that to wait 3 months before informing you simply wouldnt stand up..

So I will see them in court.....

Are they claiming back only the £25 vouchers used or all vouchers e.g. £10 voucher that was also posted on here?

If you login to your LW account and click on 'statements' on the left it will tell you if any vouchers have been cancelled and also the value of the voucher.

I would love to see them in court too but unfortunately am not in a position to do so and i dont know any friendly solicitors.

Will try writing a letter to see if they will expect the used goods back but thats about all i see that i can do :(

If you have a home insurance policy (either for buildings or contents) it may - repeat may, have a facility for you to get free legal advice via a dedicated confidential help line. It's often included within a home insurance policy but most people put the policy in a drawer and forget about it - could help you !!

It costs them more money to process cheques instead of a card payment.

How much would it cost them to bank 100 25p cheques?

Or even 100 cheques with random amounts that total £25?

How about my mate then, she orders a skirt and some undercrackers, uses the £25 voucher, waits for delivery which didn't arrive but Littlewoods says it was sent and now it looks like she will have to pay the full amount - She is on holiday in Turkey at the moment and in fact wanted the skirt and undercrackers for the hols, looks like she is stuck with using her old ones now, what a time to go on ya holidays. :rotfl:

A cracking rebuttal to Littlewoods from HotUKDeals ....

    Dear support,

Thank you for your response. While I do not maintain such records, and am unable to provide you with details of where I obtained the promotional voucher, I can confirm that I did indeed tick the box confirming that I had read and agreed to your terms & conditions of sale. I would like to draw your attention to the following clauses:

"2.2 When you submit an order to us on our website you will receive a 'bounce back' confirmatory email of this order saying that we are processing your order. You will then receive a second email from us acknowledging your order and giving you estimated timescales for delivery. You should check both emails for accuracy and let us know immediately if there are any errors. Neither of these emails constitute acceptance of the order by us. Your order will be accepted by us (and a contract will then be formed between us) when we despatch the goods to you. Title to the goods will pass to you on delivery."

"2.3 Where you have redeemed a promotional code or any other offer ("a Code") against your order, acceptance of this order is subject to our verifying that the Code has been issued to you personally, that you comply with all the terms of the offer and qualify for the Code."

The section of your conditions specified in your last letter (2.3) states that acceptance of my order is subject to any promotional codes being verified as valid and personally issued to me. However, point 2.2 confirms that acceptance of my order takes place at the point of despatch, and title to the goods transfers to me on delivery. Therefore, by despatching the goods to me, Littlewoods have confirmed that any verification in relation to my order has already been completed, and that my order has been accepted, including any promotional codes used.

I therefore consider any obligations on my part in relation to this transaction to have been fulfilled, and will not be paying anything further in relation to this transaction. I expect this amount to be removed from my account with immediate effect, and the account closed.

Please confirm by return that my account is now in order.

    Regards

    Me
