Everyone has buggered off out today. I "should" finish the housework I didn't do yesterday but think I'm going to pop out and get 16yo some more jeans for work. He hasn't worn jeans since he was about 11 so they're a bit of a revelation to him and he looks so much better than in his usual trackies. He's 6'2" so they define his height better too. Great news about your son's job Maybe you could suggest he start setting aside a bit of money for Xmas presents from next pay packet onwards ... while he's getting his first experience of getting paid but immediately having to use it to pay back prior spending! 3

Plus 10% is totally fair. I didn't have to pay housekeeping when I was 16-17 but I did have to start paying for all my own expenses like travel card, clothes, school trips etc and I started contributing 25% when I turned 18. Sounds like you are setting him up with some good life lessons about financial responsibility.2
