@GeorgianaCavendish great idea about Christmas. I'll talk to him about it. I have told both of mine they take over their own phone contracts at 18.Credit Cards NOV 2019 £33,220.42 Sept 2023 £19,951.00 Tilly Tidy 20223/COLOR] Sept £43.71 Here's my diary: A Ditherer's Diary Again1

Today I have finally managed to update my YNAB. Hopefully I know where I am but it's been a while so I think i'm going to watch a few more of the tutorials to refresh.
DD's have started going out and I've added to my pots this month after taking a month off last month to fund the days out and Alton Towers trips.
I had £80 in my Monzo emergency fund pot so I bought 3 more premium bonds. Now the proud owner of 6! 😂 I have been thinking that I do all the online banking etc and MrM has no idea of how to log into any of it, what credit cards we have (all in my name but joint debt) and the PB's etc. I'm thinking I should write it all down for him to be kept somewhere incase something happens to me but then I worry if we ever get burgled and I've just written all the information down for someone to access. Not sure what to do. 🤷♀️
Credit cards are currently at £26,231.27 and will be in the £25k bracket by the end of the month. That feels like a bit of a milestone to me. I need to redo my snowball as I've shuffled my 0% deal. Might go and do that in a minute as I'm in the financial mood!
Nothing planned for the weekend except 11yo wants to go "stationery" shopping before starting school on Monday. It's a hard life!
Hope everyone is safe and well.

I have the same thoughts about where to keep financial things, I keep thinking that I need to print off the details of my accounts (at least the account numbers) and keep it together with my will and life insurance policy etc. I have not done it yet though!
I know it sounds depressing, but I know a couple of people who have really been through the wringer trying to get control of accounts etc after someone dies and I would want to spare my family that if something happened to me.
Enjoy the stationery shopping - it was always my favourite thing about going back to school1 -
PS. Congratulations at being so close to 25K - it will feel amazing once you reach that milestone!1

It's difficult to know what to do with the information. I know as I deal with it all he would be clueless so would want it to be accessible to him somehow. I'm wondering about emailing it to a close friend/family member so they could at least help or provide it for him if something should happen. Might have a look on the forums here to see what if anything is recommended.
Just played with the snowball. It's added a few months on as I consolidated £3k onto my credit cards at 0% out of my overdraft. The good thing being I am not using them now. But I have to do a bit more shuffling of an expired 0% deal next month so will need to do it again anyway.Credit Cards NOV 2019 £33,220.42 Sept 2023 £19,951.00 Tilly Tidy 20223/COLOR] Sept £43.71 Here's my diary: A Ditherer's Diary Again2 -
Could you maybe do a list of where the accounts are and what type of account they are? Say Lloyds current account and savings account, HSBC current account, ISA and cc, post office savings account and so on. Then at least he or whoever is helping him would know where to start. Means you don’t have account details written down anywhere. I know it’s not ideal and extra step of work but removes the worry of leaving too much information just lying around. Of course have to update it with new accounts which can happen more often than expected when you are chasing MSE deals2

I've got a password protected spreadsheet and only both of us have the password. I keep things for example, the home insurance, who we're with at the moment, renewal dates, costs, policy numbers, log in details and links to the log in pages and the customer service phone numbers and claims lines if req. I try and keep this as up to date as possible when we switch/change providers so its up to date.
I've done this for a few years now as its been my worry as DH has no clue of anything financial if he were asked to sort in my absense.Original Debt £37,493.25 @ 25/05/2019 - Now £0 @ 24/02/2023 - £37,493.25 - 100% paid3 -
Thanks both. I mentioned it to my brother last night and he suggested similar but he said compress it in a zip file then password protect. Apparently they are harder to get into. He's in IT and my font of all technological knowledge 🤣 He told me to send it to him as he has back-up servers in different places.Credit Cards NOV 2019 £33,220.42 Sept 2023 £19,951.00 Tilly Tidy 20223/COLOR] Sept £43.71 Here's my diary: A Ditherer's Diary Again1

This morning was dd's first day of high school. She was so nervous but met a couple of old school friends to walk in with. I'll be clock watching until 3pm! It's also ds's first proper day of college so all change here.
We did the stationery shopping on Saturday, we have loads at home but of course 11yo wanted some new stuff. I think the world was out shopping for stationery at the same time 🤦♀️
Yesterday was an NSD I just sat and watched tv and did a load of ironing. So exciting!Credit Cards NOV 2019 £33,220.42 Sept 2023 £19,951.00 Tilly Tidy 20223/COLOR] Sept £43.71 Here's my diary: A Ditherer's Diary Again0 -
