Not much to report this weekend.

MrM and I went out for a valentines lunch at a lovely pub yesterday and today I've done nothing! MrM braved two hours in the pouring rain with doggo playing frowit this morning. He came back freezing and soaked. 20yo made him a consolation bacon sarnie.

Bank account has been tilly tidied.

Our local Aldi is now closed for two weeks refurbishment. Tossing up whether to go to Lidl (which I don't like a much as Aldi) or Tesco where I can stock up on cupboard bits.

I'd suggest putting your shopping list into a supermarket price comparison site like

    Compare Supermarket Prices - Trolley.co.uk

and see what you come up with. If necessary, pick up the cheaper things at L1dl then top up at T, if you can stick to a list. 😊We have both near us and I find T is more expensive.

I ended up going to Lidl. Weekly shop came in at £100.

I've had a busy week at work with a couple of late US calls so going to sneak off tomorrow around 3ish.

Last couple of DD's still to come out the bank account.

Got my dog insurance sorted. Got a quote from Liverpool & Victoria which was £2 cheaper than I currently pay! Tesco couldn't match it.

Getting sorted for my work trip to Amsterdam too. I've got £36 to claim in expenses as I booked seats on the flights and I've managed to get the company uber on my account so I can get to and from the airport. Need to sort travel insurance.

I'm becoming a hermit. Living a bit like lockdown again. I'm obsessing over having money left in the bank account at the end of the month. We've got £450 left this month and I get paid on Tuesday which is the day I reset our month.

Not sure where I'm going with this. I can't really tell any of my friends as they all live paycheck to paycheck or in debt but I'm really excited by having some extra money.

I've just done MrM's car insurance and that was covered by the pots.

Whilst I was in my spreadsheet, I reviewed our pot budgets and changed or updated a couple and amended the standing order. I still had a pot for 16yo's scouts subs. She left a couple of years ago! I reduced the amount in petrol, upped the car insurance and a couple of others.

Whatever I have left gets split 3 ways: cc, savings & mortgage. Even if it's £10 to each I feel like it's working for me. I know really it should all go on cc but I'm trying to build up emergency fund to 6 months of bills. It's going to take a long time to get there.
