Gaah 11yo has bloody nits! Just spent half an hour nit combing half her head. Had to take a 10 minute break for the sake of my back.  It's so hard to deal with in curly hair.  I think I might have to get a pair of straighteners as the heat kills them too.😬

As a child I had curly hair and I vividly remember how painful nit combing was. Although possibly slightly better than the icky stinky shampoo that came first!

Yup the shampoo is awful. She has a sensitive scalp and was crying saying the shampoo was burning 😥.

I have called the college for 16yo's kit he needs. Their information was so vague and there's so much choice on the website they recommended.  Spoke to one of the tutors who us going to have a look and call me back.

I've amended my payment amounts on my credit cards. Having BT the Barclaycard to Tesco's I have set the fixed payment to just £5 over the minimum and raised the payment on the next card the 0% deal ends on which is October.

Payday today so hoping to find some time today to sort out my budget and get it logged on ynab.

    Hi Naomim,

Congrats on the progress. Are you still using YNAB? Anything else to track your progress? Do you think an app that kept a track of your debt and your progress would help?

You are making really good progress. Are you getting to grips with YNAB now that you have been using it for a few months?

@w66m @FootyFanDan. I did get to grips with it but completely fell off the budgeting band wagon for a couple of months 🤦‍♀️

This is a repeating pattern with me except usually I stick my head in the sand and ignore it all for a long time then the panic returns when things hit the fan.  At least this time it's been a couple of months, I've not spent on credit cards and know I need to jump back in again.

I do have a spreadsheet which details all my dd's, credit cards-balances, when 0% deals expire, minimum payment percentage plus what I'm actually paying. I'm still paying into my pots except this month as it was school holidays.

So a 2-3 month blip isn't as bad as I have previously been. Again usually when I get complacent, I stop posting on the boards but this time I haven't.

Need to get my big girl pants on and get back on track.

Well done on keeping up. This past month has been horrendous money wise thanks to the school holidays but at least it's all been paid for here. I'll be back to overpaying from Spetember.

Thanks @CRANKY40 I think the win I need to take from this is I've recognised that I've been ignoring my budget rather than to continue what's essentially a destructive path and have to start again worse off.

I think we all have times when it’s harder to get a grip, the main thing is we all keep plodding on. You will get to where you want to go in the end and it will all be worth it.

@WinterWarrior complacency is my nemesis.  If I read back through both my diaries on here I see it. I get a budget, sort out dd's and card payments then after a while get smug thinking I know what I'm doing and take my eye off the ball. Then I'm back two years  down the line with higher debts.

    Not this time!
