I had a PB win 🏆 £25 but it goes straight into the PB's. First one this year.
September's Tilly Tidy came in at £29.79 which is a good result. 💪
We're off on our travels on Monday and I have do much to do. 😫
I've only just finished work so will post more when I'm not brain dead.3 -
Hi All,
We're back from our trip to Sorrento it was marvellous but spendy! I haven't been brave enough to look at the bank account properly. I need to work out what we've spent and transfer the funds from our savings. We've also both managed to catch a cold as we got home. 😭
Did I mention the toilet was blocked before we left? I think one of those toilet rim things has gone down the pipe. Luckily we have a downstairs loo. I've tried plunging but that's not worked. I've been googling and it appears this is a quite common problem. I've ordered a thing called an auger from Amazon to give that a go before I resort to a plumber.
I've not done any tilly tidying whilst we were away because I was ignoring the bank account because I'm a big scaredy cat. 🤦♀️1 -
Sorrento sounds amazing 🤩 but boo to the toilet and the colds.0

Sorrento sounds lovely, nice to get a bit of sunshine before the winter. Check the bank account, you'll feel better after 😊
Careful with the auger, when we used it we scratched the bowl and then scale would form around the scratches constantly.

I've checked the account. 🙈 we've spent around £500 😱. I've transferred it from the savings. We have about £80 in bills to pay before payday and one more food shop as I shop at the weekend and get paid the Friday after so anything left in the account will go back to the savings/emergency fund.
@jokono I've watched a few YouTube videos and they've all said about being careful with the scratching. We live in the South which is a hard water area so I'm constantly battling the limescale! The auger arrived this evening so I'll try and give it a bash tomorrow.
15yo is having her hair cut tomorrow evening. She has long ginger curls. Her hair is beautiful but costs a lot to maintain. Good job I have a haircut "pot" so don't need to find extra money. I've also just ordered her last school photo. 😭

Evening all,
Nothing much to report. I've given up trying to fix the blocked toilet & plumber coming tomorrow as I have BG homecare policy.
I bought paint for the office at the weekend. A nice yellow to keep it light. Just need to do it now.
MrM almost fully recovered from covid but still wfh.
Savings account looking very sad now we've paid the electrics etc on the office. 🫣
Naomi.

All sounding good in your world - the garden office looks really smart - not surprised you're delighted with it!
Glad you had an excellent time in Sorrento but how annoying to come back and straight into colds - great to have all the spending covered from money ready and waiting though. Even now, when I know the holiday account covers anything we spend when away, I still get anxious thinking about squaring up CCs after holidays - it's one of those things that never quite leaves you I think!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

@EssexHebridean I have become quite the hoarder with savings and am loath to spend a penny of them. Although I'm pleased we were able to cover our costs in full plus the spending.
Payday in two days which can't come soon enough! It's also dd's 16th birthday next week so this weekend I shall be off out to get her present.

I've been paid but MrM doesn't get paid until Friday. We have a couple of bills that come out between now and then and my piggy pots get filed up.
Went and got dd's birthday present at the weekend. Money transferred to cover it.
I've also downloaded three months of banks statements to try and complete the budget planner. There's so much rubbish being spent. 😫 I've not finished but can already identify we spend too much on takeaways so I definitely need to get back to my meal planner and shop accordingly.
Having said that, we are going to Nando's tonight for dd's birthday. 🫣3
