Sorry I meant another day without reply from the company but they have since replied.
I have no issue with being charged a conversion rate but I think this should be set out CLEARLY on the website.
The website is listed up in GBP. I think I can be forgiven for taking £26.99 to mean £26.99. If they put some funny foreign symbol at the start then ok but they put £.
Especially when the site says pdm games UK. I don't think me thinking the price was the price was out of order?
I've had a look on their site & cant find any mention of having to pay more. It may say it somewhere but then that misses my point of being CLEAR.
To me it's pretty obvious it's aimed at the UK market. I searched Wii U controller & it was the first result at the top of google.
So again, had they clearly listed there may be an extra charge then everything would be ok. I wouldn't have bought from them.
But they didn't. It was either hidden or you had to go clicking here & there to find it. To me this isn't right.0 -
If you're going to buy from China best to use Ebay or at least Paypal.0

I'll have searched something along the lines of buy Wii U controller online or words to that effect.
From that PDM were either the first site listed or one of the first. Maybe they were even listed under the 'shopping' tab & I saw they were cheaper. I honestly can't remember but it will have been one of those ways.
Another day, another day with no reply.
I would be surprised if the controller is genuine to be honest. A lot of stuff from Chinese websites are not genuine, that's not to say its poor quality though.
I always find its best to stick to more well known sites, there are plenty to choose from. It's just not worth the hassle that these things can cause to save a few pounds.0 -
I don't know how else to say this where it wont be taken the wrong way.
But these kinds of comments - i know. Lesson learned. All that type of response though is about not making the same mistake in future & i already know to try my best not to be taken in by these websites.
The problem is that those kinds of responses don't deal with the here & now. No offence but they don't. It's the here & now that i have to deal with.0 -
I have since cancelled the card that was used & a new card has been issued.
What happens if they issue a refund? Obviously they'll have the old details on file. Would this just pass over to the new card or what?0 -

What do you want to know about the here and now ? You bought a controller, it might come, it might not, it might be genuine it might not. Stopping the card wont make any difference to anything, worry about the refund if they offer one. You're worrying about something that might not happen.0 -

What do you do if someone tells you once or twice?
What do you do if someone tells you it 100 times?Stopping the card wont make any difference to anything, worry about the refund if they offer one. You're worrying about something that might not happen.
Will the refund go through to the card no problem or what? I've never been in the position where i've received a refund to a closed card before.0 -

so it wont stop them from charging that second order that i never placed through will it?
Well we're actually in talks of a refund, which is why i asked in my previous post about what will happen since i closed that card & have been issued a new card.

Just phone whoever your card is with and ask. I'm not sure what else you expect the people on here to say, you are obviously not happy with what has been said so ask them. They should be able to tell you where the refund will go.0 -

Agreed. If they said they would charge you £26.99, then that is what you authorised. If they charged you a different amount/in a different currency, then that is unauthorised. I would dispute it on those grounds - unless the website says elsewhere that they might bill you in a different currency.0 -
What section of this message board should i ask about the returns of this item? Specifically how long should i wait for it to arrive before something should be done?
They say it should be with me soon, that was at the start of the week. I understand about shipping and weekends and Xmas times, i'm just wondering how long is acceptable to give without the piddle being taken by anyone.chattychappy wrote: »Agreed. Scroll right to the bottom & click on "shopping guide" It's listed in there.
While it's listed, i personally don't think it's acceptable. It's all fantastic that we can look at it now knowing what we know, but imagine this - you google for a Wii U Controller because that's what you want to buy
You see a website saying PDM Games UK. Everything is priced in UK money & it appears to have been done by someone with a grasp of English. Everything seems UK based. Even at the purchasing section around Xmas it stated a delivery time of before the New Years so that doesn't appear to be Chinese based.
Everything seems fine. You wouldn't think to go checking at the bottom for the possibility of being charged extra an unknown amount.
And if you would then there'll be many more who really wouldn't.
But for now i have to wait on this item arriving, if it ever arrives.0
