I believe the unrecognised amount is actually the controller.
Check out for yourselves - PDM games. I bought a Wii U controller at £26.99. The website says free delivery in the uk.
Last night when searching deeper I found an email in my spam box from them AFTER I had paid which said I may be charged more than the listed price.
Maybe I missed it but I never saw notice of this on their website.
I've emailed them to say I haven't yet received it & I wish to cancel the transaction for a full refund.
A google search on PDM doesn't fill me with hope.
Sainsburys can't cancel the transaction. You need to contact the seller to do that.0 -
I did contact the seller to cancel.
I contacted Sainsbury's for more info to identify it. This was before I checked my spam folder.
Is there any way of a refund other than the seller taking pity on me? That google search showing another customers situation doesn't seem likely but surely they can't get away with it?
Not to forget the fact they charged more than the advertised price & never gave notice of this until after the order was placed.0 -
You will need to discuss your refund with the seller, whether they refund you or not depends on their t & c's, have you read them ? The higher price is probably due to exchange rates so to be expected really. Why do you now want a refund ? Presumably you were happy to order the goods from them in the first place ?0

Nothing against them as far as racism goes. It's not that. I do know you can get counterfeit goods from the UK but simply the high volume of counterfeit goods from China. I've had numerous off eBay over the years that it put me right off & now I avoid.
Had I known they operate out of China then I wouldn't have bought from them. I thought they were uk based.
The online review I read on them tied in with my above concern. While I'm not basing everything on 1 review it just adds weight to it in my eyes.
I saw no notice of the price may be higher before the purchase. Had I seen this then again I wouldn't have bought from them. I don't buy something on an unknown price.
I'm not being confrontational here but do you check the origin of every website you buy from first? What I'm saying is it appeared a U.K. Based site to me & I only saw otherwise when I got that mail in my junk folder so how do I avoid that in future?
I don't suppose it'd be worth refusing delivery then & having it sent back that way so I don't have to pay to return it?0 -
Oh I forgot to add that I contacted them last night to ask where they were based as I hadn't yet received the order. I said I didn't think they were based in China but I had to ask (this was after I found the statement but before I found they were actually tied to China).
Next thing there's an email through for a new order of the same controller.
I contacted them immediately saying I want that order cancelled with immediate effect. I never placed that second order at all. I also don't store my card details on websites like that so I never gave authorisation for a second order to be placed.
But it seems they did anyway.0 -
What do the T & C's say about returns ? What is the name of the website ? What did they say about your refund ?
I do check the origin of every website before i give my card details, there is usually something on websites that gives away the fact they're not UK based, even if they say they are. I also check reviews of websites if i've never used them before. It's worth a couple of extra minutes on each order, if something seems cheap, there's usually a good reason.0 -
Can I ask anyone reading this thread to answer this question please:
It's been said that the increase in the amount could be due to the foreign exchange.
How is that possible when the amount is clearly marked on the website £26.99. Not 26.99 chinese money but £26.99 pound symbol.
Also i can't find anywhere on the website that states you may be charged more than the website says & your invoice says.
That's like going in to your local Curry's, picking up a £500 TV, getting to the till & paying £500, having the receipt say £500 but £1000 comes out of your bank account.
You wouldn't stand for it in that case so why is it ok in this case? I repeat it is in English money - £26.99. That's what the website states. What do the T & C's say about returns ? What is the name of the website ? What did they say about your refund ?
The website is https://www.pdmgames.co.uk/
The item i bought is https://www.pdmgames.co.uk/official-wii-u-pro-controller-black-new-in-box.html

I placed the order and got an email receipt from them. A day or so later the pending went to shipped.
Only last night did i find out that about 5 minutes after that email, another email landed in my spam folder
Now while it doesn't mention the increased price, the "todapparelu" does tie in with what appears on my statement.
And again i repeat - there was no mention before the purchase of any possibility of an increase in price. I see nothing on their website saying this may happen.0 -
Just off the phone to Sainsbury's.
I've 30 days to get this sorted with PDM Games before Sainsbury's can do anything regarding a dispute.
I asked for my account to be blocked just to play safe so that the only activity on there would be my direct debit repayments, so they've sorted that for me.
I've just thought on though with the 30 days, would that be 30 calendar days or 30 working days?0 -
A quick search shows it was only registered on the 26/11/2016 and shows the website owner as coming from China. I would never have ordered from that site in a million years. Personally I would cancel my card and get a new one, but it's your money.

Clearly i've a lot to learn when it comes to buying online.
I know this is getting a little ahead of ourselves but what if i get no joy from this company. No refund, no response maybe.
Do i have any right whatsoever to a refund & can Sainsbury's help with this?
The PDM website states shipping out of both the UK & Hong Kong, so you'd think (or i would) that i could return to their UK warehouse (probably a back room in some dingy terraced street i guess) at a much lesser cost than to their HongKong warehouse.0
