    Alternative facts = Lies

Actions speak louder than words. Something the current generation of politicians should take heed of. In part why there is a disconnect between them the electorate that they are suppose to represent. In whose interest are they acting in? Treating people as being stupid does them no favours.

    Narcissistic Traits
A pervasive pattern of grandiosity (in fantasy or behavior), need for admiration, and lack of empathy, beginning by early adulthood and present in a variety of contexts, as indicated by five (or more) of the following:

    • Lacks empathy: is unwilling to recognize or identify with the feelings and needs of others
    • Has a grandiose sense of self-importance (e.g., exaggerates achievements and talents, expects to be recognized as superior without commensurate achievements)
    • Has a sense of entitlement, i.e., unreasonable expectations of especially favorable treatment or automatic compliance with his or her expectations
    • Is interpersonally exploitative, i.e., takes advantage of others to achieve his or her own ends
    • Is often envious of others or believes others are envious of him or her
    • Requires excessive admiration
    • Shows arrogant, haughty behaviors or attitudes
    • Believes that he or she is "special" and unique and can only be understood by, or should associate with, other special or high-status people (or institutions)
    • Is preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited success, power, brilliance, beauty, or ideal love

Yes you've summed up the average celebrity rather well there. I can also think of plenty of Lords fitting your description with an over estimation of thier abilities, smug arrogance, preoccupied with power, endlessly seeking to put thier virtuous qualities in the spot light in order to garner status and adoration.

Government by 3am tweet does not seem destined to produce a more considered style of government.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

Celebrities seldom have the executive power to sponsor state torture or go to war with nukes so their narcissism is usually quite harmless.

The profile seems to fit a few current leaders quite well, as well as a few famous dead ones.

    Putin
    Kim Jong-un
    Trump

I have been watching the American news on NBC. Their political analyst said that one of the most disturbing things that has happened this week is that Trump has restructured his security meetings. The heads of the US military and US intelligence are now to attend only when they are invited. Whereas press secretary Steve Bannon will have a permanent invite.

It's certainly an interesting way of doing things.

A regular security meeting, but without the important people for security? That'll certainly be interesting.
