Trump will bring about a new era of prosperity

In the meantime we have an insufferable ugly Belgian fellow polluting our shores and attempting to spread hostile propaganda in a nation that is not his. All that's doing is putting people's backs up. Panicking amateurs revealing the true colours of the would-be EU empire in ever clearer form.0

Forgetting the emotion & opinions & studying the facts, Trump is tightening the US borders. In comparison to what other recent presidents have done, this is about as mild as it gets. Some of them have bombed other countries to dust.
Not commenting on whether he, or they, or both, or neither, were wrong. Just that the fact is that what he's done so far is way milder than some of the things his recent predecessors did. Not something that the virtue-signallers on social media (& the epidemic going on in Hollywood) seem to remotely comprehend.
Put it another way Imagine "all" his predecessors did was tighten border security, and Trump had invaded Iraq in his first week. The mind boggles what kind of reaction that would have got............0 -

Under the Obama administration the US military, Navy, Army and Airforce have all shrunk in size. Not the effective forces they once were. Even the Chinese now operate a sizable naval fleet. That outnumbers the US.0 -
An absolutely awful, humiliating few days for Brexit Britain.
The day before May arrived in Washington, Trump praised the use of torture. The day after May left, he imposed this chaotic Muslim travel ban. Getting May to condemn the ban was like pulling teeth. The sordid image we've presented to the world is that we're in lockstep with Trump. Whatever crap Trump comes out with, now reflects on us, too.
The Queen has even been dragged into this Brexit-Trump shambles. Can't wait for the state visit in June....during which he's been invited to address both Houses of Parliament. That'll be a riot!:rotfl:
And then, May in Turkey, hobnobbing with dictator Erdogan. They haven't even hosed the blood off the walls yet, from his brutal suppression of the coup. A hundred thousand have been purged, tens of thousands are in jail without trial!
Brexit has left us vulnerable. Over the coming years May and Boris will be kowtowing to torturers, mass-murderers, and dictators, because Brexit needs trade deals.
What an effing mess we've got ourselves into! This will increase the likelihood of alienation and thereby terrorism. Of course we are all so in touch with diversity and the global world on here aren't we. :rotfl: Also why isn't Saudi Arabia on the list. We are seeing the most powerful country in the world sliding towards corrupt, authoritarian, racist, ultra nationalism led by an impulsive, capricious, deluded bigot............
no nothing to worry about!0 -

Yet more Leftist claptrap.
You are merely witnessing the complete trashing of your 'world-view' that`s all.
The 40-50 year old Neo-Liberal consensus that has held sway over Western societies is possibly beginning to come to an end. This has`nt happened by way of military-coup but via the ballot box. Ask yourself why voters are opting for this new form of Western Ultra-conservatism, its not because they`re stupid or are being duped, its usually because every time people like you open their mouths or write on a forum like this, their first instinct is to put their head in their hands and think how can anybody be so wrong.“Britain- A friend to all, beholden to none”. 🇬🇧0 -
I personally will wait and see.
The fact is there was not a decent presidential candidate this time, but then it was not up to us in the UK, it was up to the Americans.
He is an elected leader and we have to respect him as that, we have had far worse people on state visits to this country, just that there probably was not as much hubbub about them. In 2003 Tony Blair welcomed Putin, and in 1998 he welcomed Emperor Akahito of Japan, and in 1973 Callaghan actually welcomed Nicolae Ceausescu (the queen managed to avoid him), and all of the aforementioned "leaders" were and are far worse than Trump.
The world is turning, Trump has happened, Brexit will happen, and it is my belief that the EU cannot continue in its current form so, considering the idiotic protectionist narcissistic idiots at the top of it do not want it to change, it will collapse before Germany actually manage to do what they tried to do previously, that is take over the world. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -
Latest polling has Geert Wilders in the lead for the upcoming Dutch general election.
Because the way Dutch politics works this does not mean he will necessarily become leader, but none the less he will be a very important player in Dutch politics and slashing away at the tired old globalist liberal consensus.0 -

While yours is an accurate comment it doesn't exactly tell the whole story.
Geert Wilders' PVV party is polling the largest proportion of prospective voters in the polls and is polling 20%. The conventional rightist VVD is polling 16% and has ruled out a coalition with the PVV without which the PVV has basically no chance of forming a government.
While Wilders is popular with the journalists because his quotes a good copy, the big story of the Dutch election, as elsewhere, is the collapse in support for the traditional left. Labour (PvdA) are polling below 10% having got a quarter of the votes last time. The Greens and harder left Socialist Party are also polling below 10%. It looks like Labour's support is moving to the PVV in part with the rest split among the Christian Democrats, S66 (Lib Dems in disguise) and 50PLUS (old people).
It's hard to see PVV getting into Government as they simply can't get enough votes from the other parties to get support.
The leftists (PvdA, Greens and Socialists) are polling at 25% support. VVD, 50+ and Christian Democrats have about 40% between them. If they can get the support of S66 they'll be almost over the line and can simply ignore Wilders.
That's democracy of course. Hillary isn't 'a very important player' in Presidential politics now, she's second place which is the first loser. In Dutch politics if you can't form a coalition then you are just another loser. Wilders will lose because he is unable to work with any other party and so can't get anywhere near 50% support.0 -

To be clear that's why I said>> 'Because the way Dutch politics works this does not mean he will necessarily become leader, but none the less he will be a very important player in Dutch politics'
What I meant here is that though he may not be able to enter Govt, he will none the less be a very important political player (in the way Farage has been without ever having entered the HOC)0
